FC United of Newcastle vs North Shields Athletic Reserves

I wasn't sure if I was going to do a game today. I got home from work and was leaning against the idea with the rain, but in the end, I decided I might as well, and so a trip through the Tyne Tunnel again it was. It was very wet at this game, especially in the first half. The venue is one I've seen many times as you go up the A19 passing the coast road turn off, and it's one I've always wanted to visit just because of how often I've seen it from the road....

Newcastle Benfield vs Easington Colliery

Colliers impressive in Benfield victory Easington Colliery claimed an impressive 4-0 win away to Newcastle Benfield in their final away game of the season on Saturday afternoon. Craig Hennis scored a brace for the Colliers, with Brad Hird and Chris Trewick also on the scoresheet. Holywell Town vs Newtown

It was only on Tuesday afternoon I discovered I was going down to Wales for work on Wednesday afternoon and staying until Thursday afternoon, and so I immediately looked at where I could go! This one is the game which stood out easily above the rest, and it was only a 30-35 minute drive from my hotel in Wrexham. This was the first time I've ever watched a game in the second tier of Welsh football....

There was plenty of time between the 11am kick-off at Jarrow and going to this one at 3pm with Callum Turnbull. I decided just to stay local this Easter Monday and the plan was three games with one new ground. That turned into two games and no new grounds when I found out this morning that Newcastle Independent were playing at Druid Park. Raith Rovers vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle

It was a 22 minute drive from Kirkintilloch to Partick Thistle, and there was plenty of time given it kicked off three hours and 10 mintues after the game at Kirkintilloch. Partick Thistle is a nice traditional ground. There are two fairly modern stands plus the old main stand where the dugouts are. That stand wasn't open today, but it looked to have plenty of character....
