First half goals from Regan Crossley and Bailey Kenny, both from corners, helped the Mintcakes to the three points at the Welfare Park. It was a 25 minute drive from Crewe to Congleton, but finding a spot to park on the streets was proving tricky so I ended up in a town centre car park. The ground was much better than I was expecting. It has six stands in total, two of which are seated. They're well supported, and there are plenty of facilities across the ground....

I'm in a spell of a lot of Saturdays without Easington games at the minute, and I opted for another double with a trip to Crewe and then Congleton on Saturday. This 12:30 kick-off worked perfect to get over to Congleton for 15:00. The main sand at Crewe reminds me of a bigger version of the main stand at Gateshead, and it's probably the best place to watch the game from....

Colliers back to winning ways with five star performance at West Allotment Easington Colliery claimed a first win in four games with a 5-1 win at West Allotment Celtic on Monday night. James Fairley and Brad Hird both scored braces, while there was also a late goal for Taylor Ford. With numerous players unavailable, it was somewhat of a depleted squad at West Allotment's Morpeth Town home, with Olly Hotchkiss naming himself on the bench....

Myra Shay has been the only ground in the Northern Counties East League I needed to get to, and there were always going to be plenty of options to get there. In the end, I decided to do it for this game with Rory Drake, and I've now recompleted all grounds in the NCEL. I've watched Halifax at home before - when they were playing at Yorkshire Amateur, but they don't seem to keep a home for a long time....

It was a 25 minute drive from Blackpool up to Thornton Cleveleys, and I arrived at 14:53 in time for the game kicking off four minutes early. I can only presume they were trying to get it played ASAP with the rain continuing to fall and causing the pitch to be more and more waterlogged. The ground has one seated stand in a far corner, and then a covered standing stand near the entrance....

The first of numerous upcoming free Saturdays for me saw a double in Blackpool. This game was a 12:30 kick-off and then it was off to Thornton Cleverleys for their FA Vase game. I arrived in Blackpool in plenty of time and had a bit of a walk along the front before heading to the ground. I can't remember the last time I was in Blackpool....

Colliers knocked out of FA Vase Easington Colliery were knocked out of the FA Vase when beaten on penalties at home to Billingham Town on Friday night. The game finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, and Dale Hopson converted the decisive penalty to put Billingham Town into the first round proper. Thomas Bott opened the scoring for Easington in first half added time, but two goals in three second half minutes saw Billingham lead through Charlie Watt's brace....

Late winner sees Durham United beat FC Hartlepool Seb Hopkins' 90th minute strike grabbed the three points for Durham United in a 2-1 win against FC Hartlepool at Maiden Castle on Thursday night. Durham United took the lead through Phil Kay in the 33rd minute, before Mikey McGee pulled FC level in the 56th minute. Hopkins' winner arrived just inside the final minute of normal time, and the three points lifts Durham United to 19th in Northern League Division Two while FC Hartlepool remain third....

Having not watched them since the 19th of September last year, I decided tonight I would watch my home village team away to Silksworth! It's a while since I've been to Silksworth, but nothing has changed. This game was 4-3 at half-time and finished 4-3. I don't think I've ever seen that!
