Do you have a vacant property that requires checking on a regular basis?

We have a team conducting over 30 building inspections at weekly, fortnightly and monthly intervals and have scope for more. What we do on an inspection all which is documented on our reports sent out the same day:
✅ Check the surrounding area is clear with no signs of fly tipping or unusual activity.
✅ Check the building externally and internally for damages and that it was secure on arrival.
✅ Check the building is watertight and there are no leaks from pipework.
✅ Take gas, electric and water meter readings.
✅ Check for any signs of pests.
✅ Report any security or health & safety concerns.
✅ If required, conduct a fire alarm test.

When we get a call for an alarm activation, we never know what our Mobile Patrol Officers are going to find! Common causes for false alarms include:

Spiders 🕷️ - this time of year especially, the one in the photo made us all shudder in the office this morning!

Birds 🐦‍⬛ – The dreaded bird being trapped in the warehouse flying about setting of all the sensors!

Open windows 🪟 - Common with the hot weather a bit of wind blows the blinds and trips the alarm.

Balloons 🎈 – Birthday celebrations? Think before leaving a balloon floating in front of a sensor.

Ghosts!! 👻 – Sometimes we never find a cause for an activation so maybe just maybe …….??

There are many reasons that cause activations of an intruder alarm, but we must never ignore the RESPONSE phase of a security programme!

Complacency costs 💰, unfortunately there are organised criminals praying on vulnerable premises and conducting surveillance to monitor assets and spot weaknesses. Testing reaction times is real and that is why we treat every call out serious and continuously monitor our rounds performance and look where we can continually improve!
