It's been Volunteers Week this past week.

Although our lovely team of House Guides and Stewards are not volunteers, it seems a good opportunity to sing their praises. Unfailingly cheerful, full of knowledge and enthusiasm and always quick to step in to fill a gap in the mystery that is the summer staff rota.

A cheerful Monday morning start to see the DEWS Coaches vintage Bentley Eagle bringing visitors up the drive. Malvern Civic Society stopped for a group garden photo last week during their visit and with Rutland Morris entertaining everyone on Bank Holiday Monday we've had a busy beginning this year.

Open again Wednesday and Thursday for guided tours and the gardens are looking lovely! Join us?

We were looking for a plant list this this week so the subject of archives cropped up.

We have a lot. Not surprising for a property dating back several hundred years. Over the winter months, we spend some of our time trying to put better order into the last 40 years of paperwork, which often seems to entail moving stacks of boxes from place to place and trawling through lists and schedules. Here's what just a small quantity of it looks like.

A never-ending, constantly changing task and one that may send us all out in our own boxes before we're done!
