Today we attended the Truly Inspirational Events wedding fayre at Holiday Inn Peterborough West
We exhibited three of our tree canopy designs, one umbrella tree design, our multicoloured arch, a fair amount of table centres, a few Chiavari chairs with different styled dressing in all three, and a whole load more options for banquet chair dressing.

It's been a very busy weekend, with four events to look after yesterday, and an unanticipated availability of more space at today's fayre to fill.
The amount of times we've loaded, unloaded, loaded, unloaded the van for this weekend is immeasurable 😴

Over the past 10 days, we looked after 9 weddings/celebrations. They all happened across 5 days.

We as a family, have had an extremely challenging August outside of our work - including bereavement, some very poorly family members requiring hospital visits, a little dog who gave us a health scare for a short while, a small leak in the house - y'know, the kind of things that sound like they're on par with "my dog ate my homework", but are in fact all non-fiction.

We are pleased to report that nothing stopped us being able to look after any of our physical jobs that we had booked in, but, while being able to fulfil our commitments with these jobs, it came at the cost of our admin tasks (as is to be expected). In all honesty , it's been a really exhausting time for us - that's no one's problem but my own, and I endeavour to get on top of my admin over the next few days - thank you for your patience and understanding. Your business is extremely important to me, and I appreciate everyone's contacts so very much.

There is no way of denying that without the support of the venues within which we work, these jobs would've been a humongous challenge. Allowing us early access, fuelling us with coffee, and rather simply having a great respectful working relationship with is so very valuable to us - thank you to our venues and their teams - you guys are AMAZING 🤩

Polite notice, today is my "picnic in hospital day".
Internet access is not only intermittent, but staff interruptions for observations are frequent.

I'm ok; it's inconvenient but planned, and the result of me not coming in for this treatment is far more inconvenient.

I'm done now for the next 6 months, and should be full of energy for the first 5 of them.

Ahhhh, 18:26 on Sunday 28th June, and I've just sat down to enjoy my first coffee at home since Wednesday morning.

This is one of the parts of my job that no one sees. People know we've been busy this week, and it would be natural to think we did pretty much all of it yesterday. What goes unseen is the prep that started long before. We've been non-stop since Tuesday evening with loading, counting, laundering, emailing, calling, planning, moving, delivering, setting, removing, unloading, storing, and planning logistics for the jobs ahead of us next week.

I have however made time to eat eight (pretty healthy) meals, drank 14.5 litres of water or cordial, and slept for 20 hours since waking up on Wednesday. I've managed to throw in 7 showers too - woo!

I am absolutely not looking for sympathy here, please understand. I am simply trying to look after your expectations.

When your event comes around, I am YOURS - before the day, and if needed, on the day. That cannot and will not change. Your day that you trust and pay me to look after is absolutely top of my list because it cannot wait. My admin will have to wait, because it can, and I promise will be worth the wait - much like my coffee ☕

Phew! What a busy weekend. Three weddings - all slightly different. We started setting up on Wednesday afternoon, and finished work this morning at 2:30. 8 hours sleep over the previous 2 nights, and although tired, it was absolutely worth it to give our couples the venue makeover they want.

It’s always incredibly sad to hear of a local business in our industry closing its doors so suddenly.

My heart genuinely goes out to all the couples who may have woken up today worried about their wedding plans, wondering what happens next. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without unexpected situations like this. My thoughts are also with the staff who worked for the company who woke up this morning to find out they no longer have a job.

If you’ve been affected and are now left without your décor, please know that there are local suppliers who understand just how important your day is and will do everything they can to help where possible.

We in the industry will do our best to accommodate any couples who need support, whether that’s replacing items at short notice or simply offering advice on your options.

Wishing everyone affected a smooth path forward and hoping your special day is everything you dreamed it would be. 🤍

I'm STILL trying to post allllll the weddings we've looked after recently, and failing 🙈

Last month, D&C got married at after booking with us a few years ago.
What a chilled out and relaxed couple

They ran with a stormy undertone to their colour scheme and chose our silver and lavender grey taffeta sashes for their chair decor, teaming it up with our blossom umbrella trees, lit backdrop to conceal the car park, ivory aisle runner, aisle end rose trees, and lanterns. For after the ceremony, we provided our Royal Mail style post box and our martini vases with floral arrangements to sit on top.

Thank you both for putting your trust in us to bring this all together on your wedding day. ❤️

Last week, we hit our 15th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, we went to a Thai Cookery Class with the lovely Tui at Tui's Flowers, Tui's Food
We first met Tui 2 years ago when she was providing the beautiful exotic flowers for a wedding we were providing our chiavari chairs for.

As vegetarians with vegan people in the household, I let Tui know our food requirements in advance, and nothing was too much trouble for her to include me and Adam in the session. The sessions are small, with a maximum number of 6 in attendance.

We made four different DELICIOUS dishes - things that I'd never considered making at home, and quite frankly, I cannot wait to try to recreate some of the dishes we made - in particular the Pad Thai and Massaman Curry 😋👌🏻

Thanks Tui, it was really lovely to see you again. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make traditional Thai food.

Highly recommended.
