Good evening all 👋
It is with much sadness that we bring you the news that The Main Event will be taking a break from performing as of 2026. With a desire to spend more time with our wonderful families and work commitments being a huge factor, we have had to make this very difficult decision.
It was not an easy decision to make either. Giving up something that you love and has been a HUGE part of both of our lives for over 3 years was a very difficult decision to make.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to every single person who has supported us along our journey. From every venue that took a punt on us, to everyone person that came to dance, sing and chat with us at our gigs, and of course, our amazing wives for their unwavering support and taking care of the little'uns while we were pratting about on stage 🤣 None of what we have done would have been possible without you all 🧡
We have made so many great friends and memories over the years that we feel like we can take this break now with our heads held very high, having achieved so much! From playing at some of the finest establishments in and around the city, multiple charity events, countless festival slots (including Beerfest twice!), birthday parties, and everything else in between. It really has been an absolute blast from start to finish 🚀
That being said, the fun does not stop just yet! We have 5 shows left at some of our favourite venues, which we have affectionately named "The Final Knee's Up Tour" 🍻 The first show of the tour will take place at the mighty Fletton Club on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd Nov from 4.30pm. All proceeds from this show will be donated to Cancer Research UK. We will also be accepting food donations for Peterborough Foodbank, so please have a dig through your cupboards for any spare tins, etc. if you can 🧡
We want "The Final Knee's Up Tour" to be a true celebration of all of the friendships and memories we have made with you all over the years, and we hope to see as many of you with us as possible 🥰
We know this post has been a rather long one, but we would like to close out by saying the door will never fully be closed on The Main Event. We do envisage a time at some point in the future where we will share the stage again, and make more memories with you all again 🧡 This band was started out of a true friendship and bond that goes beyond any musical notes that we have played together. We are still best mates, we are still brothers, and together, we will always be The Main Event 🫶
