What a week at this year’s Royal Highland Show!

Catalyst installed six activations, including the Scottish Water Pavilion, ABP Hospitality Lounge, Scottish Government (Rural) Marquee, The Trophy Room, The Murrayfield Experience, and a retail space for Bowmore & Garioch Whisky.

It’s been a busy 10 days onsite, but the team absolutely smashed it out of the park- huge effort from everyone involved.

This International Men’s Health Week Catalyst is taking a moment to highlight how important it is to look after yourself.

Across our sites, warehouse, workshop and office, we know that it’s the people beside us every day that matter most. Taking a bit of time to check in with a colleague, starting a conversation, or simply asking how someone’s doing can make a real difference.

Following a recent talk from , we were reminded that not everyone finds it easy to speak up- but knowing someone’s there to listen can go a long way.

A helpful chance to look at a range of materials and tools from one of the UK’s leading suppliers for theatre and art departments, and to consider how they could be applied across both our production and scenic work.

Proud to have supported the recent SCAA Stadium Takeover at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, working alongside the fantastic teams at Zone Events and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA

For this project, Catalyst Event Production Services supplied the truss and staging infrastructure, alongside rigging support and technical expertise to help deliver the event safely and efficiently.

Projects of this scale rely on detailed planning, precision and collaboration between production crews, engineers, rope access specialists, venues, volunteers and charities- all working together to bring ambitious events like this to life.

Supporting SCAA’s life-saving work across Scotland made it even more rewarding to be involved, and we’re proud to have played a part in delivering such a unique and meaningful project.

We were delighted to host Robe for a Scottish training workshop focused on the innovative RoboSpot system.

Across two sessions, attendees gained expert-led training and valuable hands-on experience, building confidence with a system designed to revolutionise follow spotting. It was great to see such strong engagement throughout, with plenty of discussion, questions, and shared experiences from those working across the industry.

With the ability to remotely control multiple fixtures from a single BaseStation, RoboSpot opens up new creative possibilities- delivering precise, synchronised tracking of performers across the stage.

Crucially, it also brings real-world benefits for crews and productions. By removing the need for operators to work at height in venue rafters, RoboSpot improves safety, reduces physical strain, and creates a more comfortable working environment, while also helping streamline setup times and increase efficiency on site.

It was fantastic to see participants getting to grips with the system and exploring how it can be applied across live events, theatre, broadcast and beyond.

A big thank you to for delivering such an engaging and insightful workshop, and to everyone who joined us and made it a great success.

The incredible range of work produced by our workshop team is something we probably don’t showcase enough! Alongside stage sets, exhibition stands, bars and bespoke build projects, our skilled joinery team also delivers premium retail and point-of-sale displays for leading brands.

Recently, we were commissioned by Ian Macleod Distillers Europe to create this striking Tamdhu installation for The Whisky Shop, Piccadilly.

Designed, manufactured and installed, the display reflects the heritage, craftsmanship and signature sherry cask maturation synonymous with the Tamdhu brand.

Now on display in one of London’s most iconic retail destinations.

Our team recently completed Robe’s two-day technical training in Northampton, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of Robe lighting fixtures.
