Big day tomorrow as I switch off the lights in the old Scott Street shop for the last time.
It’s taken 4 months to get it done but this will be the last day getting it cleared.

Big moment for 42 Scott Street. It will be the first time it has been empty for almost 60 years. In that time it has spent 50 years as a photographic shop and was an ironmongers I believe just before that.

Can’t be many shops that have been occupied that long.

I wonder what will be next for this space.

Great to be part of this day organised by Perth Festival of Perth Festival of the Arts

What a day! Today we joined by 150 young people from across Perth and Kinross to deliver the Festival's first ever 'Creative Futures' day which introduced young people to a range of creative arts roles and prepare them for next steps on their career paths. We explored photography, film industry, technical theatre, music production, gallery curation, video game design, acting, songwriting and much more! 🎬🎭

We met a brilliant group of young people - enthusiastic, knowledgable and full of ideas and creativity. We can't wait to see what the future holds for them.

Our thanks to St John's Academy Perth for hosting today and making us feel so welcome, to Developing the Young Workforce, Tay Cities team for being the best event partners, The Gannochy Trust for their incredible support and making the whole project possible, YMCA Tayside for being our event movie-makers, Councillors Liz Barrett and John Duff for joining us today, and all other amazing individuals involved in the event Music Education Partnership Group - MEPG Su-a Lee Cello David Douglas Music Andrew Barrett, Gareth Williams Shaun Ward Photography, UHI Perth Abertay University Claire Nicoll, Helen Band Composer Scottish Youth Film Foundation Portfolio Oomph - Julie Read Culture Perth and Kinross and Big Think Agency

This year it will be 10 years since the original Kiltwalk finished.
I’ve talked about doing a book for that long but this is the year it needs to happen.

So I am asking for your help.

I have created an email address to collect all your Kiltwalk memories
From 2011-2015

I now need

People’s memories and stories
A bit from the charities involved
A bit from the families of the children we supported.

AND any other ideas you think it may be good to include.

The plan is to get this ready for Xmas this year.

It will be a great memory to keep.

I am setting up a online portal/website to bring together all the create courses that are available to Perthshire.

With the view that bringing all our communities together will allow for your offering to reach a larger audience.

If you run a creative course/workshop and would like to be involved let me know.

This can be art, photography, music, dance, food or anything else that falls into the realm of the creative world

Costs will start at £5 each month for first 6 months.
This will help with the running and promotion of the website
