Kalabash School of Music + the Arts We offer private music lessons and handmade theatre workshops for kids! It connects us to each other and the world around us.

We called our school Kalabash after the calabash which has been used to make musical instruments in many cultures around the world for thousands of years. We think it serves as a good reminder that music and art can be made with anything, anywhere, anytime. From the first cave paintings to today’s pop music, the arts play an important part in our understanding of ourselves and our environment. We

offer private and group classes in instrumental music, singing, art and more! Fostering an accepting and nurturing environment between teachers, students and the community at large is what we’re all about. Everyone is welcome to discover and create with us. In the wise words of Albert Einstein, “imagination will take you everywhere”

Last night we premiered our handmade theatre production of The Odyssey at The Acorn Theatre in Penzance and it was glorious! ✨Wow! ✨ It’s amazing what you can achieve in 6 weeks with a lot of papier-mâché, imagination and heart.

K A L A B A S H has officially landed in Cornwall and we can’t wait to do it again!

Thank you to the entire team at The Acorn for hosting us and the amazing Kalabash crew and captain Miss Nati Natasha Kozaily who sailed our ship safely home!

Next week we’ll be at The Ladder for our Peter Pan summer camp and we can’t wait to fly with the fairies!

We put on a play in three days under the full moon! ✨What a joyous reunion it was to create this outdoor handmade theatre production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in one of my favourite places in the world.
