Well deserved
I can highly recommend John Roberts and Son both professionally and personally 👏🏻

We’re delighted to share that John Roberts & Son have been accepted as members of National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and have passed the required inspection.

This independent inspection recognises the high standards we strive to maintain every day, and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing families with care that is professional, compassionate and respectful.

As members of the NAFD, we operate in accordance with the UK Funeral Director Code, which helps ensure that every family receives the highest standards of care, transparency and professionalism.

The Code commits us to:

• Treating every person in our care with dignity and respect.
• Acting in the best interests of the families we serve.
• Providing clear, honest and transparent information.
• Maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
• Continually reviewing and improving the service we provide.

Meeting these rigorous standards through independent inspection gives families added reassurance that when they choose John Roberts & Son, they are placing their trust in a funeral director assessed against nationally recognised best practice.

We are proud to continue upholding these standards and supporting local families when they need us most.

Well worth a visit.
Since working as a celebrant I have a huge respect for the caring and dignified, professional manner of the staff at Parc Gwyn Crematorium.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Parc Gwyn? Pembrokeshire County Council invites you to a public open day at Parc Gwyn Crematorium on Saturday, 19 September, 11am to 4pm.

TYING THE KNOT: Reforming wedding law in England and Wales
On 16th July 2026 David Lammy, the Deputy Prime Minister, launched a consultation document with the intention of reforming wedding law as we know it.
Pictured here with the founder of ICPC (The International College of Professional Celebrants) Stuart Morris who attend the launch on a boat on the Thames and has been instrumental in an advisory capacity.
There are many changes proposed
One of the main ones being a licensed person rather than a licensed venue.
If the law is changed then appropriately trained Celebrants will be qualified to legally marry people wherever they choose.
On a mountain,
in a garden,
in the woods,
on a beach or
even on a boat or cruise.
There are many other changes proposed which I can detail on other posts.
If you are still reading, I have a favour to ask.
Please read and comment on the document.
It can be found on the government website under Tying the Knot
You will be contributing to the future of legal marriage in England and Wales
Thank you 🙏

I understand the desire to have a no funeral, no fuss end to your goodbye but I don’t believe companies that have mass installations and impersonal services are the right way for the future.
All local funeral directors throughout the UK can offer a personal but direct service.
Support your local funeral directors please

This is Lisa in our mortuary. Currently in our Todmorden location we have space for four guests. Each person is washed and dressed in their own clothes. We know them by their first name and what their family loved about them.
Last week I read about a planning application for a 700 person mortuary in York! Made by a well known direct cremation company. You'll have seen their ads on TV. With this company you do not have the option of visiting your loved one or of having a funeral ceremony.
This is a gentle reminder that small independent funeral companies, staffed by people in your community, can arrange a direct cremation. And you're likely to still have the option of visiting your loved one or even having an attended ceremony before the cremation. A powerful reflection on your loved one's life with the support of your community.

We're Natural Endings, female undertakers, supporting families to create amazing funerals in Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Manchester, UK.

It would be dignified, quiet and discreet, according to the plans.

I was pleased to receive a surprise visit to Clare’s Craft Centre this afternoon. Snowdrop ceremonies is based in the craft centre.
New elected County Councillor Jamie Street took the time for a small tour of my little shop and discovered a little about both of my businesses.
Thank you
