The House and the Homers...

We are not sure whether we found Grassfield Hall or Grassfield Hall found us! We were both working shifts and had young children, which didn't always work well, so we were open to the idea of changing our lifestyle. We knew that giving up our careers, selling our house and taking on a major restoration project wasn't going to be easy, but we were ready for change. We both grew up in the hospitality industry, plus we had a history of property renovation, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into, or so we told ourselves. I had spent 16 years as cabin crew and 8 of those as a safety trainer. I've always felt very lucky as it was my dream job and giving it up didn't come easy, but I now know that it was great training for my second career here at Grassfield Hall! A year prior to giving up my job as Cabin Crew we had bought a B&B in Harrogate, and after renovating it we found that we enjoyed the lifestyle, however the location wasn't right for our family, and it was far too hectic running it alongside my job. We talked about one day buying a B&B in a rural location and living there with my parents, and we imagined how that could be a better life for us all, but it happened a lot sooner than we anticipated as quite by accident we found Grassfield Hall.

So, the adventure started in the spring of 2010, we fought our way through foliage and for the first time we set our eyes upon the house that would change our lives. We fell in love with it instantly and from that minute, we knew it would become our family home!
