It is with great sadness that we share the following news-

Yesterday we lost not just a friend and colleague, but the kindest person we have ever had the privilege to work with.

We have so many happy memories of Dave aka “Crispy”, or his workplace name here - “The Skipper”

We will miss him, as will many in The Covered Market family.

Our thoughts are very much with Sue and Karen, and we join Dave’s large circle of friends in sending them our heartfelt condolences.

Keep singing Dave - somehow I think you always will, not here, but in another place

We'll be back and raring to go on Monday (10am-2pm) for all who need to pick up their exam Carnations 💪

For anyone new to Oxford, a little on Exam Carnations...

It is tradition for students at The University of Oxford, to wear Carnations to all of their exams.

For the first exam wear white, pink is for every exam between and red for the last.

One (of many) explanations for this tradition is that initially a white carnation was kept in a red inkpot between exams, so by the last exam it was fully red.

We sell the three coloured carnations in "sets", and for those students unlucky enough to have exams that span longer than the life of a carnation...we sell them my the stem too!
