Feeling fortunate to have the chance to work here at Chygurno… it’s definitely a proper workout !
These stunning 3 acre tropical gardens are carved into the cliff edge … they are incredible as are the views … steps are pretty full on too! 🤪
If you’re down in SW Cornwall these gardens are an absolute must see!
The most peaceful gardens we’ve ever worked in and the steepest!

I adore the brights and jewel colours around in the summer months. all that fabulous cosmos , zinnia and dahlia joy is wonderful.
However this is definitely my favourite colour pallet right here…
These muted aqua blues and pale greens are so beautiful they are my colours . On my walk this morning the Rock Samphire and Sea holly were a sight to behold . Only thing missing is perhaps some soft lavender hues and then that’s me!
What are your favourite colours?

You know it isn’t always blousy blooms and bright colours where you find beauty….
These are all ‘spent’ flowers, weeds to some.
Alliums . Bluebell, Alexander’s and Dock.
I love the acid green pods of the Alexanders and Bluebells. In time these will all turn to dark seeds , the dock to red and umber - taking on yet another form . I love this inbetweeny stage, not first blooms yet not dried forever flowers. I think they hold their own beauty and are stunning and quite architectural in a vase.
What do we think!?

Honouring Summer Solstice… and what a day ! The sunshine , the sea swims and solstice sauna ritual with new found friends has been nothing short of magical. Just being outside and connecting with nature is an easy way of life here in Cornwall and I’m invested in that!
So grateful for this sun energy it really is quite special.

Swifts have lost more than half their population in 20 years. A simple £35 brick in new builds could help save them. Labour used to support this – now they’re planning to backtrack. Sign the petition now to show them the public still backs this nature-friendly fix:

The most gorgeous green walk today into Mousehole… so beautiful and lush. Swipe to the final 2 pics and all is not quite as perfect as it seems.
You can see in the foreground of Mousehole coast picture. This stuff is highly invasive and practically impossible to irradiate . It looks like it’s followed the water course down towards the sea. Horrendous stuff , pretty sure you have to report it if you see it so I’ll do just that!
Sadly was introduced as a specimen to Kew botanical gardens in 1850. Gardeners loved it apparently as it looked like bamboo and grew everywhere and anywhere … it even grows through concrete!!! 😳I’ve never seen this up country in Oxfordshire but no doubt it’s there! Beware!!

Alexanders - (Smyrnium Olusatrum) AKA Horse Parsley and Black Lovage - it is most probably Cornwall’s’ most prolific hedgerow beauty. Depending on who you ask though- some think it an invasive ugly … ( def not me!)
These bright yellow - green flowering plants are often confused with Angelica or toxic Hogweed…. But they are known as ‘the forgotten vegetable’ and are an ancient medicinal plant.
Used to treat menstrual problems and wounds as well as asthma.
All parts of the plant are edible and tasty - they’re like a floral celery and give a gorgeous zing of colour to the hedgerow at this time of year! I ❤️ Alexanders!!

We bought these gorgeous olive trees from back in the autumn. Unfortunately not being up to speed on the fiendish Easterly winds down here we’ve often woken up to find them horizontal! The pots we planted them in were just not right, we needed a wider base. So thankfully I found these from .
They were so helpful !
Especially as the first ones I ordered were so big they would work as a plunge pool! ( note to self don’t order online after wine!!) anyway finally got the right size and now these olives are going nowhere!!!

Hello!! just a little update and a new message for 2025.
I mentioned last year was one of change for Posyflowers a shift for us personally and professionally.
Well 2025 is going to be different yet again. You may or may not know (depending on how closely you follow us !) that we’ve changed location…. Quite a change to be fair! We have ventured down to the South West . This has been a dream of ours for many years and we’ve finally got here!
I will still pop back to Oxford as arranged with clients, though we’re now not taking on new projects in Oxfordshire . The bulk of our work will now be in Cornwall!
We are excited for the challenges of what we can and can’t grow by the coast .
Our grid will look somewhat different over the coming months as we evolve and adapt. Thank you for all the support and good wishes we received !
