One year of business self-coaching – and a little celebration of local businesses supporting each other!

Today, Harriet Matthews and I celebrated a whole year of meeting once a month to step away from the day-to-day running of our businesses and look at the bigger picture.

We both run very different small businesses here in the Abingdon area, but we’ve discovered that’s one of the things that makes our monthly catch-ups so valuable.

Our format is simple: 3 wins, 1 challenge and 3 key objectives for the month ahead.

We give each other time to talk through what’s working, where we’re getting stuck and what we want to achieve next. We share ideas, experience, encouragement and, sometimes, that fresh pair of eyes that helps you see something differently.

Running a small business can sometimes feel quite solitary, which is why having another local business owner in your corner can make such a difference.

A year on, our monthly hour has become an invaluable part of keeping us both focused, accountable and motivated.

So here’s to Year Two — more wins, more ideas, a few challenges to solve, and plenty more coffee and herbal tea! ☕🌿

Happy First Anniversary to these two beautiful souls, R & A wanted a festival feel to their wedding ceremony celebration and with Sun, Rain, thunder, and lightning, Wellington boot floral arrangements from the amazing Go tell the bees, this wedding day had it all!

A meaningful ring warming to start the ceremony and a hand-tying with the stunning ribbons in autumnal colours to "tie the knot"; so glad the sun shone for them. Surrounded by their family and friends, this was such a wonderful, unique celebration in front of those they hold the most dearest.

Wishing them many fabulous years ahead.

A privilege to tell M's story. Terry's Dad, M, was such a character, a steam engine enthusiast, who loved watching the cruise ships arrive and leave Southampton harbour - we shared this reading, adapted for M, who left a legacy of kindness, of reliability, of being there for people without ever needing praise for it.

Along the shore, I spy a cruise ship
As she sets out to sea;
I watch her fading image shrink,
As she moves on and on,
Until at last, she’s but a speck,
Then someone says, “She’s gone.”
Gone where? Gone only from our sight
