💚 Mental Health Awareness Day 💚
A phrase used so commonly yet still not always fully understood, still a stigma and lack of resources but something so many people still experience daily or from time to time.
It’s a subject close to my heart,
having lost my dad to su***de aged 7 an age where I’d struggled to deal with all of the emotions that come with loosing a parent and not knowing how long those feelings would last.
And like many people I experienced some bullying during my school years as well and being involved in toxic relationships that can have a detrimental impact on your mental health.
I also managed a large number of people over the years and have had some very challenging conversations with people around their own struggles which naturally can have a knock on impact.
But one day I was offered the opportunity to become a mental health first aider and I jumped at the chance, finally a subject I could learn about and really get behind it was a very heavy 2 days and brought up lots of emotions for me but I’m so glad I was given that opportunity as I honestly feel so proud that I know I’ve helped some people on their darkest of days ♥️
Always be kind as you never know what others might be dealing with 💚
