Meet the green fairy. 🧚‍♀️💚

Corsetry, layers of lovely green fabrics and a healthy dose of mischief (that last one was mostly my model, ): this is one of those looks that makes me want to invent a whole character around the dress.

A little shipping update for my lovely US customers 🇺🇸

Yes, you can still order from me. No, I won’t be shipping US orders through Etsy anymore.

If you’d like one of my corsets, dresses or other weird and wonderful creations, please contact me directly to order. I’m absolutely still happy to make and send things to the US.

The catch (and it’s a spectacularly unglamorous catch): you’ll need to be happy to pay any import duties and taxes charged on arrival, as well as shipping. I’ll make sure you have the shipping details and costs before we go ahead, so there are no surprise, your corset has acquired a second price tag moments from me.

The dresses still have teeth. The customs paperwork now does too. 🖤 IT IS ABSOLUTE DOGSH*T, people.

A little reminder that I do more than make dresses!

I also teach sewing, fashion and textiles, run creative workshops, and give talks about my work. That might mean helping someone get to grips with a sewing machine, working with a group on a textile project, or sharing the stories behind the clothes I make.

This time;
More is always more.
Violence is always the answer.
No such thing as a weird body/ ok, yeah, your body is weird. But no weirder than anyone else’s.
Keep nothing ‘for best! Wear your best clothes for the school run/ fun run/ supermarket run.

Today some of the jobs that lead me to you, some of the hazards that will likely someday destroy me and some of the things that make me question reality, only to have it lick my hand.

Apparently, this is a perfectly normal career.

This week’s evidence includes:
~parcels containing old bras, handcuffs and photos of elderly underwear.
~clients posting me jam, creepy porcelain dolls and tins of ginger mints (all for entirely legitimate work reasons).
~weddings in ruined castles, deserts and anywhere else that sounds like the setting of a fantasy or sci-fi novel.

Being an alternative bridal and costume designer means my postie has probs got questions.

If you’re after a traditional white wedding dress… I’m probably not your person.

But if your Pinterest board contains colourful wedding dresses, gothic bridal, steampunk gowns, fantasy dresses, sentimental details, recycled materials and the sort of ideas that begin with “this might sound a bit weird, but…”…

…we’re probably going to get on SWIMMINGLY.
