Had a meeting with the new incumbents the other day. I'm pleased to say that the model of piano that they plan to bring in begins with a 'B' and not a 'Y'. This makes me very happy. We are preparing the floor space to take it!

In other news the lovely Mike Coppock, who many of you know will be handling social media for the new venture.

Few people have seen the lighting grid in its servicing position. There's an awful lot of dust to clean out of these fixtures before we pull them all out. There is an exciting new chapter coming for this building. It won't be a venue as such but it will be helping to keep the arts alive in a different way. Hermon Arts Hub is the working title. And the lovely Sarah Wright Owens will be leading the charge. We will be sharing more as plans develop and we will be supporting Sarah any way we can. It's the end of a chapter but not the end of the book.

Absolutely last chance to enjoy an evening of original music at the Hermon, tonight Thursday 17th of July. Quint will be performing, with additional vocals from Dorie Jackson and Remco Engels on drums. It’s set to be a great night of music, laughter and tears.

Huge thank you to all our regulars who have made this place a great community. Huge thanks to all the performers over the years. Can’t beat live original music and most of all a massive thanks to all our volunteer bar staff, we could not function without your help. It’s been a blast. Let’s have some fun tonight.

And now the end is near …Sadly this will be our last event at the Hermon, but what a way to end our run here with the Quintessential Quint Starkie.

Quint will be joined on stage by Dorie Jackson and will feature a support slot from Mark Dennis.

The bar will remain open after the event till late if you want to hang around for a bit at the end. There will be tears I’m sure and it would be great to see you all.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have come along to the gigs over the last few years. It’s been a pleasure bringing live original music to Oswestry. Let’s go out in style.

A chance to see the second performance of Frankenstein Afterglow before it hits the Edinburgh Festival. Shaun has made some tweaks to improve the show and welcomes more feedback at the end of show question and answer session.

The show runs straight through with one interval before the question and answer session and of course there is a raffle which is always a crowd pleaser.

Still time to get tickets for tomorrow nights performance at the Hermon from the Black Feathers.

Americana to some, folk to others, The Black Feathers have those qualities in expansive quantity. Sian Chandler’s soaring, dramatic, melodious but powerful voice is a perfect counterpoint to Ray Hughes’ piquant vocals and his sparkling and occasionally spicy guitar motifs. This is a duo who love what they play and play what they love with panache, humour, delight and rather a lot of commentary on the downside of being a human.
