Yesterday we hosted an Open Gardens at Coombe Trenchard to raise funds for the Sabine Baring-Gould Centenary Fund.

A beautiful day for visitors to enjoy homemade cakes, tea, coffee, wander the gardens and purchase some plants.

The day was made extra special by so many of our Coombe Trenchard couples who have been married here, or are due to get married here this year, joining us for the occasion. It truly felt like a wonderful reunion as we relived their wedding days and saw how their families have grown, meeting their children and furry friends, or shared exciting tales about the final stages of their planning.

Thank you all for taking the time to visit and catch up, it meant the world to us.

Over the course of the Winter and the early parts of Spring, The Coach House goes into hibernation to allow the cooler temperatures and wetter climate to pass and for the team to tend to our annual maintenance.

It’s about this time of year that we are getting excited to reopen its doors for the late Spring & Summer events and weddings and watch it transform into the special vinery it has become.

Added warmth is brought into the space with log burners, candlelight, personalised decor and infinite joy through cheers & laughter shared over scrumptious food and drink.

We are on countdown to the first wedding of the year, where we will enjoy scenes such as these at L&S’s wedding a couple of years ago.

Getting married at Coombe Trenchard was a complete fairy tale come true, having Sarah and Kate organise the wedding made everything run like a dream, nothing was ever too much trouble and took the stress out of it for us. Always on hand at the end of emails or on video calls to answer any questions or to help suggest how you want your day to pan out, they really have got a beautiful vision of how to make things so special on your day.

The venue was out of this world and to give us a piece of their home for our day was a dream come true… Having use of so many different areas of the house was just perfect as each part has unique characters that needed to be shown off from the beautiful archways and incredible fire place that we got married infront of, and the beautiful morning room that we used for the cutting of our cake…

Long before our wedding day, we met multiple times face to face and over the phone with Sarah taking us through everything. She helped us navigate the world of organising weddings and we are very grateful for her support.

From the family dinner the night before with wonderful hospitality and food, to the little touches, organisation and friendly help on the day to the day after, Sarah, her team, husband and the most gorgeous setting that is their home have created wonderful memories for us.

It had our guests asking how we found this place, because it truly is a hidden gem. Thank you.”
