The Armistice Day road closures will commence at 09.30 to allow concrete blocks to be installed at the town centre entrances.

The blocks are there as an extra safety measure, in light of incidents at other events elsewhere, including today in France.

Pictured here are representatives of the Armistice Committee, Saltem Event Support and Balfour Beattie, arranging for their deployment.

They are being brought in from a long way away, two trips on a special lorry, so where to store them overnight?

NBBC came up with a solution. Thanks to NBBC for relieving this pressure - and finding somewhere to store 10 blocks until next year, as Balfour Beattie has given them to us, to protect the legacy

Enhanced Safety Measures

2025 Bedworth Armistice Parade and Service

In light of recent tragedies where fast-moving vehicles have been driven into crowds — including incidents in Liverpool, Mainz, Nice — the Bedworth Armistice Committee, following professional advice, has resolved to implement enhanced crowd protection for the 2025 Parade and Service on Tuesday 11th November.

While the cost of these measures is substantial, we are deeply grateful to Balfour Beatty, who has generously agreed to install and remove the necessary road barriers. This vital support enables us to prioritise public safety without compromising the dignity of the event.

To facilitate these protections, road closures may begin earlier than usual, from 09:30am. We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we take these steps to safeguard all attendees.

Safety is paramount. We will continue to assess what may be needed as a more permanent solution in future years.
