Looking for a relaxed way to start the weekend?

Join us for our Friday Evening Social, where good conversation, friendly faces and a welcoming atmosphere come together for a great night out in Nottingham.

We have an area reserved for us in the cosy snug area of the bar, giving us the perfect space to chat and get to know each other. With the weather looking lovely, we'll also be happy to make the most of the sunshine outside if tables are available, before moving inside later in the evening.

Last Wednesday - Mediterranean Tapas & Wine Tasting - An Evening of Flavour & Conversation

Our recent Mediterranean Tapas & Wine Tasting evening at The Refinery was a fantastic mix of delicious food, carefully selected wines and relaxed socialising.

Suggested by one of our lovely members, this event quickly became one we were all looking forward to and it certainly delivered.

Set within the elegant surroundings of The Refinery, the evening gave everyone the chance to slow down, enjoy the atmosphere and experience four beautifully prepared tapas dishes, each paired with a specially selected wine.

The tasting menu itself became a real talking point throughout the evening, with each course bringing something completely different to the table.

Guests enjoyed stuffed vine leaves filled with aromatic rice and herbs, paired with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and Vermentino blend, before moving onto rich Spanish meatballs in a spiced tomato sauce served alongside a smooth Tempranillo, Garnacha and Syrah.

The baked seabass with salsa verde was another favourite of the evening, beautifully matched with a fresh and elegant Alvarinho, while the night finished on a sweet note with churros, cinnamon sugar and toffee sauce paired perfectly with a light sparkling Asti Dolce.

The carefully chosen wine pairings really elevated the experience and added another layer of conversation and discovery around the table, making the evening feel both relaxed and indulgent at the same time.

The full table service created a really relaxed feel, allowing everyone to settle in, enjoy the food and focus on the social side of the experience. Some members arrived solo, others with friends, but as always with Affinity events, the atmosphere quickly became warm, welcoming and easy-going.

A stylish evening, fantastic flavours and plenty of memorable moments shared around the table, followed by a stroll into West Bridgford where we rounded the night off with a few drinks at The Parlour and continued the conversations late into the evening.
