The reds are in. 🍷
Negroamaro. Nero d'Avola. Montepulciano. Primitivo. Pinot Noir. And our house red, the Primi Soli Merlot.
Six bottles. All Italian. All deliberate. And yes... all the result of Beth digging her heels in like a very mature, very professional adult who absolutely did not throw a childlike tantrum until the wine list was exclusively Italian. 👀 (She did. It worked. You're welcome.) 🙂↔️
Here's why she was right to fight for it 👇
Italy has more native grape varieties than any other country on earth... over 2,000 of them.. No other wine nation comes close! What that means for you is that every glass tells a story rooted in a specific place, a specific climate, a specific way of life. These aren't grapes grown everywhere, they're grapes grown there, and that sense of place is exactly what makes them sing alongside Italian food.
Bold Sicilian reds like Nero d'Avola. Spiced Puglian Primitivo. Rustic, sausage-loving (hehe, sausage loving) Montepulciano. The earthy elegance of Negroamaro. A Pinot Noir that makes our Crispy Duck pizza taste like it was always destined to exist. And a Primi Soli Merlot so good it's become the house red for very good reason.
And if you're ordering food? The Antipasti Charcuterie Selection alongside ANY of these bottles is, frankly, an event. 😘👌
In this series of 'Beth says': I will never apologise for the tantrum. Italian wines with Italian food just makes sense and if you come in and let us pour you a glass, I genuinely think you'll never disagree with me. Summer nights are for good wine, great pizza & zero regrets. See you Thursday (this week only, normally Wednesdays) for our TWO FOR ONE on Pizza & HAPPY HOUR 5-7PM 🖤 Love from the bars black cat her self 🖤 Ciao x
