It might only be September, but Christmas party preparations are already getting underway. 🎄

There’s a lot that goes into creating a festive experience people will remember. Lighting rigs being installed, giant scenic baubles being hung, tables being laid, drinks going on ice, lights being programmed and artists rehearsing.

It’s all part of turning an ordinary space into somewhere that feels completely different for the evening.

A Christmas tree and a bit of fake snow might add a festive touch, but it’s the production, scenery, lighting and entertainment working together that create the atmosphere.

Meet Jamie, one of our Warehouse Technicians.

A lot of Jamie’s time is spent looking after our LED stock. Every module coming back from an event is checked for faults before it heads out again, helping make sure the onsite team has everything they need and the screen looks exactly as it should.

Jamie also takes care of many of our weekly health and safety checks around the warehouse.

It’s work most people will never see, but it plays an important part in every event that leaves our warehouse.

A little time away from the day job ☀️

After our August All Staff Meeting, the On team stuck around for an afternoon of food, live music, games and some fairly competitive table tennis.

As the team grows, it's important to make time for everyone to get together away from projects, deadlines and production schedules.

A great day with the On team at our Castle Donington HQ ☀️

Our annual Summer Conference & BBQ gave us a chance to bring everyone together and reflect on everything that has happened since our last summer get together.

We looked back at some of the amazing projects and achievements from the past 12 months, thanked the whole team for their contribution and recognised colleagues who have stepped into new roles and taken on additional responsibility.

We also looked ahead to our plans for the next 12 months and where we want to take On next.

After the annual quiz from our resident quizmaster Dan Jellicoe, complete with an impressive new jacket, it was time for the BBQ.

The afternoon was spent enjoying the sunshine, food, table tennis, football and live music from Paul Smith, Olivia Driver and Elliott Henderson, with Jake Moore finishing things off on the decks.

It was also lovely to have family members and some of the freelancers who work alongside us join the celebrations.

A thoroughly enjoyable day and a chance to celebrate the people who make On what it is.

We’re hiring an Event Operator to join our team in Castle Donington.

This is a hands on role supporting the delivery and installation of events, exhibitions, activations and roadshows across the UK.

You’ll work with scenic assets and basic AV equipment, prepare and load equipment at our HQ, travel to venues and help make sure everything is installed safely and professionally onsite.

We’re looking for someone practical, proactive and reliable who enjoys working as part of a team and solving problems.

Previous experience in events, AV, scenic or warehouse environments would be useful, but we’re also interested in people with the right practical skills and attitude.

As an event production company, conferences are something we're usually busy delivering.

Being on the other side of the experience was a welcome change.

The Strata Group Summer Conference brought together colleagues from across all seven businesses, giving us the opportunity to step away from our day-to-day projects, build new relationships and learn more about the people and expertise across the wider Group.

It was a reminder that growth isn't only about new facilities, technology or services. It's about people. Bringing talented teams together, sharing ideas and creating opportunities to collaborate.

We're excited about what the future holds, both for On and for the Strata Group as we continue to grow together.
