A few updates - Firstly to let people know Magnet will be open as usual next Monday (no bank holiday for me) so if you want to use your day off to play some tunes, then you know where to come 😉

A big shout out to everyone who uses and has supported the studio in recent times. You are the reason I don’t need a bank holiday as coming to work is such a privilege and pleasure. Your energy and enthusiasm renews me daily, so thank you 🙏

I’ve been toying with the idea of having a vinyl/cd/ merch fair on the odd Saturday or Sunday morning. Is there any interest from buyers or sellers?

And finally the brilliant picture of the WHO isn’t just eye candy for this post. I saw it and had to have it for Magnet. Expect it to be hanging when you next visit.

Magnet studios is still open for rehearsals. MU guidelines below.

We’ve had confirmation from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) that rehearsals can continue, provided that the band or individual is working and that this work cannot be carried out at home.

***MAGNET IS OPEN***

After over 25 years, Magnet has never been closed for more than a few days over Xmas. This has been a tough time for my business and continues to be so as all of my event work has obviously ended for the foreseeable future.

The good news is ... MAGNET is back & open for business. 24/7 whenever you need us.

During closure I have been busy. I made some improvements to acoustic treatments, painted & refurbed.

Numbers of people are limited to 4 per large room and 2 in the smaller room, due to social distancing rules. A sanitising station, wipes and disinfectant have been installed.
All mics, stands and leads will be cleaned after each band has used them.

I would respectfully ask that any band that has another following them, vacate the room 5 mins early to give me the opportunity to clean & disinfect everything. Also this allows for social distancing as the incoming band will be waiting outside until you leave.

I realise that some people find the social distancing uncomfortable and others not so but please show respect to each other and to myself by just being aware and thoughtful.
I want everybody to continue to have a great experience at MAGNET but also be safe.
