The venue 🏭

In a climate of uncertainty around venues and a city of thriving artists it’s always exciting to be able to take things to a new level and utilise versatile spaces around Nottingham.

March 29th we do something fresh and something to remember.

Our 1st Birthday venue is a brand new and never before used space for a music event. By day this beautiful venue is a professional photography studios. On the 29th we aim to transform this second floor lace factory into something resembling a NYC loft.

Boasting wooden floors, high ceilings and original fixtures. Combined that with immersive lighting design and Funktion-One sound system and you have something special.

The line up consists of artist who have all previously played at crate over the past 12 months running up to this event. We have a fully licensed Bar stocking premium beers, a cloakroom and professional security.

There is also a second room acting as a chill out lounge. Expect wonky visuals and soft furniture.

Where WAX have restarted the W.W. monthly mix series

On the second Friday of each month, we will deliver you a brand-new mix-crafted personality for us from our friends near and far. To kick this off we have invited Dylan Payne, head of music label and vinyl designs InTheBagg,

He selects style to create a sound loved for clubs, afterhours, and other natures. A fellow digger, he aims to find genre bending gems.

This mix moves effortlessly across genres from ambient to dub into Balearic tones and tribal drums left field breaks and deep house.

Calling all the WYA dancing crew.

Our little sister Where WAX is turning 5!

To celebrate this milestone we are doing what we do best and inviting a bunch of musical storytellers to get together for a day-to-night event across two venues.

Venue 1 -
Where Wax Record shop / The Carousel 3pm-11pm

Weaving the sounds of the daytime are some trusted artists we know will be pulling out all the stops to insure the music flows perfectly. Expect downtempo, Jazz, Hip Hop & beyond also performing is ZHENG with a live set we are super excited about.

Browse over our 600+ records enjoy a cold beer, cocktail, or coffee, and enjoy the new exhibition on display.

You know from our previous events that we provide a safe space for people to enjoy themselves :) this event is for all and family-friendly.

Suede Bar 11pm - late

This is where we up the tempo and take you on a journey into the deep.

Peach Fuzz Scooby Coralie & Desmond. are on the job to melt your faces with their broad collection of records believe us this one is not a joke these fellas know their onions and plan to peel them right into your grill.

Buckle up for an education in screamers for the price of a few pot noodles get ya dance on.
