Overnight ghost hunts at Mill Street Barracks in Merseyside are always an experience never to be forgotten. Mill Street Barracks have had several uses in the past which includes an old isolation unit for TB sufferers.

This location has proven to be a draw for ghost hunters due to the amount of activity and experiences witnessed here. Once used as a sanatorium for those suffering from TB it is well known that a lot of deaths have occurred here in the past. However, the apparitions that have been seen include soldiers from the Home Guard.

There are tunnels underneath Mill Street Barracks which lead to the local church. There is a tunnel leading below the Mill Street Barracks to this church where bodies were said to have been blessed and then returned back through the tunnels to the Barracks. The Team will be running an investigation-led overnight ghost hunt at the very haunted Mill Street Barracks.

Some say that 39 De Grey Street, which is an unassuming seven bedroom semi-detached house, was once a funeral parlour and has seen many scenes of death, however as of yet there is no documented evidence to prove or disprove this. The land and property dates back to around 1895 but very little records or information have been found. Several people have resided here over the years but when the current owner of the house decided to rent it out, most tenants only lasted around 4 days due to the levels of activity.

The owner himself has fled the property in fear for his life after witnessing a particularly terrifying ghostly apparition of a young girl at the bottom of his bed in the middle of the night and is now too scared to live there himself.

There have also been reports that 39 De Grey Street was once a former home for foster children. Could this be why there are spirits of children reported here?

Norton Priory is a Grade I listed building which is situated on the edge of Runcorn and it was once home to a medieval church and it is the most excavated monastic site in Europe.

In the 12th Century the priory was founded and by 1391, it was raised to the status of an abbey. The Dutton Family who supported and engaged with the monastic site until 1536 when it became part of the dissolution of the monasteries. It then changed to become home for Sir Richard Brooke who built a Tudor house on the side, incorporating parts of the abbey.

This was then later replaced in the 18th Century by a Georgian House. In 1928 it was partially demolished after the Brooke family left the house.

In 1966 the site was given in trust for the use of the general public and excavation of the site began in 1971. The excavation revealed the foundations and lower parts of the monastery walls and the abbey church.

During your Ghost Hunt at Norton Priory in Runcorn, you will have the opportunity to investigate in some of the most ancient areas where ghostly shadows and the cries of a woman have been heard in the upper gallery. A skull like face has also been seen almost in hiding within the 12th Century undercroft.
