NECTAX AT JANGALA X BRICKWORKS 07.06.25

Nectax’s shapeshifting approach to jungle and integration of adjacent genres in new and refreshing ways places him within the gaps and cements him as one of the most exciting new voices within the underground dance music scene.

Following a Breakthrough Producer nomination at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards, Nectax entered 2025 as an instrumental figure in the genre’s forward momentum, with a catalogue and style that challenge the limits of contemporary jungle.

In 2023, he released the anthemic ‘Voychek’ on Over/Shadow and later collaborated with Tim Reaper for FR043, on Future Retro London. That same year, DJ Flight contacted him to relaunch her long-dormant label play:musik, resulting in the Body Talk EP.

As one third of Newcastle-based club night and label STEREO 45, Nectax continues to push the future-focused ethos of junglism — in productions across respected labels, in his sets across the UK, and through his own club nights at World Headquarters and Cobalt Studios in Newcastle.

LMajor's profoundly dynamic production and DJ sets have helped establish him as a pivotal figure in the UK’s contemporary jungle, breaks, and bass music scenes. Drawing from the foundations of early hardcore, jungle, and garage, his music reimagines classic sounds through sharp and modern production techniques, which are showcased across respected labels including Myor, Future Retro London, Astrophonica, and WNCL Recordings.

With over two decades of experience, his sets seamlessly blend hard-hitting tracks from across genres, reflecting his deep understanding of the evolution and impact of underground dance music.

Equally skilled on both vinyl and digital setups, LMajor has performed across Europe and the USA with notable appearances in Berlin, Hamburg, Geneva, Brooklyn, LA, San Francisco, and Denver, as well as major festivals such as Fusion in Germany, and Boomtown and Glastonbury in the UK.

In 2018, he released his debut solo EP, Omega Point. 2020 saw his joint release with Decibella on Myor, and in 2021 he released the Can’t Do It EP on Astrophonica, which featured collaborations with Fracture and displayed his range across BPMs and styles. The following year, he paid tribute to early '90s rave energy with Tear My Heart on Club Glow, and in 2023 he dropped two tracks on Future Retro London for FR014. This was followed in 2024 by Digital Dubs Vol. 1 — a self-released collection of tracks previously exclusive to his DJ sets, spanning ravey breaks to liquid drum and bass.

Over the last few years Sully has sculpted an unmistakable and singular sound across the jungle, drum and bass, breaks, and UKG scenes, but has been making underground dance music since the early 2000s. He began building a space between 2-step’s rhythmic swing, the weight of dubstep, and the fragmentation of breakstep — anchored in the spirit of jungle. Across two decades, Sully's music has balanced raw breakbeat energy with deep emotional resonance, and he’s come to be regarded as one of the most unique and influential jungle and drum and bass producers of his generation.

His early work includes 2008’s Phonebox EP on Frijsfo Beats, marking one of his first significant contributions to the UK garage and dubstep scenes, introducing his emotive and rhythmically complex style. In 2011, he released Carrier on Keysound Recordings, which spanned garage, grime, and atmospheric dubstep, but it was his later return to Keysound in 2014 with the Blue EP that leaned further into jungle with chopped amens and lush melodies.

Since then, Sully has become a central figure in the contemporary jungle resurgence. His Astrophonica releases, Flock in 2016 and Escape in 2020, and his collabs with Kid Lib on the Green Bay Wax sublabel The Magic Three in 2018 brought widespread attention to his breakwork and detailed production. In 2021, he released the groundbreaking Swandive EP, followed by the famous 5ives/Sliding two-tracker on Over/Shadow, and then a number of collaborations with Tim Reaper on Future Retro London — cementing his status as a key producer in modern jungle music.
