I’m still completely in shock writing this…

Today I found out that I’ve been nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts at The Norfolk Arts Awards.

To even be considered for something like this feels incredibly humbling, and honestly very emotional.

My passion for the arts started at a very young age after joining the Norwich Theatre Royal Arts Course, and from my early 20's headed to the big smoke to undertake a Theatre Studies Degree with the Rose Bruford College. From there I began work as a Theatre Practitioner in London, before returning to Norfolk to have my eldest children, who were the inspiration for me to independently set up Greasepaint.

Greasepaint has been such a huge part of my life for many years now, and anyone who knows me knows how much I love what I do. Watching children and young people grow in confidence, find friendships, discover themselves and shine on stage has always been the real reward for me.

I feel very lucky to do something I truly love, and I’m so grateful to every family, student, teacher and supporter who has been part of the Greasepaint journey over the years. This nomination really belongs to all of us.

If anyone would like to vote, I’ve been nominated in Category 13, but truly, just being nominated already means the world to me.

Celebrating the best in Norfolk's Arts and Culture

Huge congratulations to Niall on reaching the national final of the ESU Performing Shakespeare competition - an extraordinary achievement! 🎭✨

From around 4,500 entrants across the country, only 12 students make it through to the final, making this an incredible accomplishment. Niall performed Act 3, Scene 2 from Richard II, alongside a 2-minute oracy introduction, and impressed the judges enough to secure his place at the final on 25th June at the beautiful Sam Wanamaker Theatre at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Representing his school with such talent, dedication and confidence is something to be incredibly proud of. Greasepaint wishes you every success for the final - we know he’ll be amazing! 👏

This Easter holidays, 13 incredible Greasepaint children took to the stage in a fantastic Mother Goose pantomime produced by Barnzee Productions at the lovely Norwich Puppet Theatre 🎭✨

With just a few weeks of rehearsals, their dedication, energy, and talent truly shone through — an amazing achievement! From keeping up with a fast-paced show to managing multiple costume changes, they handled every challenge like pros.

Even more exciting, they had the opportunity to work alongside professional actors, gaining invaluable experience and confidence along the way — including working with Helen McDermott.

We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them — last 2 performances tomorrow! 🌟👏

Huge congratulations to GP Diss on their amazing production of Frozen Junior today! ❄️✨

The resilience shown by everyone involved, the incredible support for one another, and the sheer talent on stage made it such a joyous day. Every moment was filled with energy, passion, and heart — truly brilliant from start to finish!

🎭✨ Rehearsal Day Magic! ✨🎭

A fantastic day of rehearsals with our amazing Greasepaint children and the brilliant Mother Goose panto cast! 💛

Within such a short amount of rehearsal time, they have showed incredible focus, teamwork, and enthusiasm. It’s been so exciting to see them working with different groups, supporting each other, and bringing so much energy to every moment.

All of this hard work is building towards the Easter panto Mother Goose at Norwich Puppet Theatre from 31st March to 4th April 🐣
