I think my love of colour grouping started long before I became a florist…

As a child, I was the one who had to arrange all my colouring pencils into perfect colour order before I could actually start colouring. And apparently, some things never change!

Now I find myself doing exactly the same thing with flowers. I can’t help but let colours gather together within a design, soft lilacs melting into blues, pinks sitting happily together, then peaches, buttery yellows and creams having their own little moment.

There’s something about grouping tones rather than evenly mixing them that makes a design feel so much more natural and interesting to me, almost like little pockets of colour appearing in a garden.

Turns out all that pencil organising was just early floristry training after all.

Plinth flowers of my floristry dreams! ✨

I absolutely adored filling this old stone pot, which has been perfectly weathering away in my garden for years, with the most beautiful muted kaleidoscope of late summer colour.

A wonderfully wild, abundant gathering of seasonal flowers that looked every bit as beautiful in the church before being relocated and reimagined at The Old Stables at Shotesham Park

She was a stunner!

A September pastel rainbow for Sophie.

That lovely in-between moment where summer hasn’t quite left us, but autumn is beginning to creep in. Soft peach, buttery yellow, powder blue, lilac and blush pink, gathered together with all those beautiful wispy, dancing September textures.

A bouquet that feels like the last little flourish of summer.

A mandap bursting with colour for A & S

With rain threatening in the forecast, we set about creating the most joyful, colourful space for A & S to begin their wedding day.

This was the mandap just before it was blessed and filled with all the beautiful and meaningful elements needed for their sacred Hindu ceremony. We dressed the structure with masses of tumbling foliage, seasonal flowers and traditional garlands, allowing everything to grow organically around the mandap and spill down into meadowy flowers at its feet.

After the Hindu ceremony, the space was transformed once again for their civil ceremony in the afternoon. We brought in floral plinths to the foreground, drawing the space in and creating a more intimate setting for the second part of their celebrations.

Two ceremonies, one beautiful space and so much colour!

A little moment for the Marquee Pole

When something structural becomes part of the floral brief, I love finding a way to make it feel artistic and textural.

We started with moss, grasses and layers of foliage at the base, allowing everything to climb and gather more abundantly as it travelled upwards and gradually gave way to those incredible spires of blue and lilac delphiniums right at the top.

I especially loved the transition of colour through this one, earthy, muted and slightly autumnal below, becoming lighter and brighter as your eye travels upwards. Almost like a little piece of wild landscape growing right through the centre of the marquee.

Quite possibly one of my favourite poles to date.

A ceremony aisle designed to feel as though the garden had simply wandered in, overflowing with colour, texture and beautiful seasonal flowers, growing and tumbling their way towards the ceremony.

I love creating flowers that feel completely at home in their surroundings, and this one really did feel like its own little secret garden.

Wild, whimsical and wonderfully abundant, just how I like it.

Still dreaming of this stunning day for L&E.

Our original plan was for an outdoor ceremony, but the weather had other ideas… so we brought the garden indoors instead.

The grand mantel at Voewood became this wild, romantic backdrop, overflowing with rambling roses, trailing foliage and beautiful seasonal flowers, as though the garden had quite literally grown its way into the hall.

Sometimes a change of plan creates a little bit of magic of its own.
