Over the past few months, several of our planned events — including Calm at the Barn and the upcoming Waterloo Park fair — have sadly had to be cancelled. This hasn’t been an easy decision, and I want to take a moment to explain openly.
Recent events have seen a noticeable drop in bookings, payments, and overall engagement. In some cases, we haven’t had enough stallholders to cover basic venue costs. In others, venue communication and support have been difficult. Rather than continuing to push forward when things no longer feel aligned, I’ve decided to pause and reset — both personally and professionally.
Behind the scenes, there’s also been a lot going on in my own life — recovering from surgery, the emotional weight of a house move, grieving the loss of someone close, and honestly, just not feeling like myself. I’ve spent a lot of time in hermit mode lately, and while it’s not easy to admit, I know I’m not alone in needing space to regroup.
This pause isn’t the end. It’s a realignment.
Going forward, Orion Events will be concentrating on our bigger, joint collaborations with Lakota of Dragonfly Events, as well as continuing with our beautiful Forum events. Our next event will be Dereham on Friday 20th September, and we’d love to see you there.
We’re also working quietly in the background to bring Orion’s Embrace CIC fully to life — a not-for-profit branch of Orion focused on emotional support, holistic healing, and accessible wellbeing services. This project holds so much heart, and you’ll be hearing more as we begin to open up practitioner listings, healing sessions, and support offerings.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and these events over the years — whether as a stallholder, visitor, friend, or kind soul cheering from the sidelines. Your encouragement has kept me going more than you’ll ever know.
This is just a pause. The magic isn’t gone — it’s simply catching its breath.
