Leap Events Leap Talks is a dynamic and innovative company that seeks to drive positive change in the world through meaningful conversations.

Our Ted-type talks, panel discussions, and workshops revolve around three key pillars: equality, empowerment and community. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of societal norms, and believe that through open dialogue and meaningful engagement, we can create real change. At Leap Talks, we strongly believe that the best conversations are the ones that are held in a safe and inclusive environ

ment. Our team works hard to ensure that our events are enjoyable and inspiring while challenging our guests to think outside the box. Our goal is to bring people together to share their ideas and experiences, creating a truly unique and powerful platform for dialogue. This man hardly needs an introduction to the Norwich business community. But for those, who have not yet had the pleasure to meet him, please meet our final speaker of the day at - Nigel Cushion. 👋

→ Nigel is a businessman, leadership mentor, and speaker. He has (co)founded many businesses, has chaired six Norwich-based companies, and has been the runner-up in the national Sunday Times NED of the year awards.

→ Today he mentors over a dozen business and community leaders in Norfolk, London, and abroad.

→ He is the founder of the social impact business Nelsonspirit, providing leadership mentoring to over 50 Norfolk business and community leaders, as well as leadership opportunities for young people.

→ Nigel has written three books and speaks all over the world on business and leadership topics. His book “Action Stations” looks at the role of sport and physical activity in the management of stress and performance.

🗣️ Nigel’s talk will be focusing on the role of physical activity in the management of stress and performance.

Nigel’s leadership and performance speaking is grounded in his own personal experience of leading both in business and in the voluntary sector. He draws extensively on his experience on boards and chairing six companies, his mentoring of hundreds of leaders, mainly CEOs and MDs, as well as his work in leadership consultancy.

Meet Flo Allen, who will be joining us as one of the speakers and panelists at the event on the 30th of June.

→ Born and raised in Norfolk, Allen played at the Norwich City Girls Centre of Excellence until the age of 15, before becoming a full-time professional for Bristol City Football Club Womens Club, where she made 85 appearances for the Robins in the Women’s Super League.

→ Flo also studied sports business management at the University of Gloucestershire alongside her footballing commitments.

→ She was a Continental Cup finalist, who won the FA Youth Cup and stood as a candidate in the PFA players’ board in 2020.

→ Upon the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, Flo announced her retirement from professional football and was appointed as Norwich City Football Club Women's Team General Manager ahead of the 2022/23 season.

🗣️ During the event, Flo will be telling us her story and explaining how she uses the skills, determination, and perseverance she learned from playing football in her everyday life and in her career. We're excited to hear all about the progress of the Women's NCFC team and their plans for the future.
