Such a joyful few days flowering for Wolterton Art and Culture Private Preview last weekend. We wanted to compliment the Palladian architecture of Wolterton with the contemporary colours and textures found across Phyllida Barlow and Daisy Pariss’ work. A mixture of pinks, oranges, yellows and purples quietly referenced these pieces, with frothy textures from the Smokebush and the Limonium suggesting the coarse brushstrokes.
It was so much fun to create an immersive space for guests to enjoy whilst wondering around Wolterton’s grounds. We created zones which followed the flow of the exhibition with the half arch leading to the saloon acting as a crescendo to the floral installations. This encouraged guests to organically move within the exhibitions whilst getting lost in its beauty.
Congratulations to Simon Oldfield and Wolterton for curating a stunning exhibition, encouraging us to reevaluate how traditional spaces can be used to champion contemporary arts.
