Sad sad news!! Rest in Peace, Gerry.

It is with much sadness that I must let you know that Gerry Ffrench passed away earlier this week.
Her music and humour will be much missed by audiences near and far.
Our condolences are sent to Karen, her wider family, comrades and friends. Rest in Power Gerry. The road will rise.

This Friday it's a Special Night!! Northwich Folk Club will be welcoming back John Doyle this Friday, 4th September in the big function room at Davenham Royal British Legion. Over the past 20 years and more John Doyle has established himself as the guitarist-accompanist of choice for not only Joan Baez and Mary Chapin Carpenter but also the great Chicago-born Irish fiddler Liz Carroll and bluegrass stars Tim O’Brien and Dirk Powell. Add in a GRAMMY nomination for the album Double Play and his place in the Transatlantic Sessions band, singer songwriter John Doyle is one of the greatest folk artists of our time.
"Doyle on guitar has risen to a level occupied by him alone. No one in Irish traditional music is a better guitarist than him right now." - The Wall Street Journal
Supporting John Doyle will be Paul Walker
We normally see Paul with Karen Pfeiffer but when he came to support Michelle, Pfeiffer and Kulesh earlier this year he was unable to perform because of a throat infection. Paul is back to 100% now and we look forward to a rare solo performance from him.

This Friday (14th August) Charlotte has invited the Club to a Singaround evening at her house and garden at Allostock from 6pm to 8:30pm. There is plenty of room under cover should the weather finally turn! Bring your own drinks, chairs and finger food to share, if possible.

This Friday (7th August) we are at the big function room at Davenham Royal British Legion for a Singers' Night with a big difference!
