♠️ ♥️ CHARITY WHIST DRIVE – DON’T MISS OUT! ♦️ ♣️

The date is fast approaching for our popular Charity Whist Drive at Moorland & Fordgate Village Hall.

📅 Friday 17th July 2026
🕖 7:00pm – 10:00pm
🎟️ £12 per person (including supper)
🍷 Bar Open

Whether you’re an experienced player or have never played before, everyone is welcome. It’s always a friendly evening of cards, laughter, good company and a delicious supper.

❤️ All proceeds will be donated to St. Margaret’s Hospice, supporting the wonderful work they do for patients and families across our community.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, please book your ticket soon. Knowing numbers in advance helps us with catering arrangements and ensures we can make the evening a great success for our chosen charity.

REPAIR SHOP
You will have seen the adverts for the repair shop that was held in North Petherton yesterday. There is an opportunity for us to set one up in Moorland and Fordgate Village Hall Wednesday pm 1st Jul after the coffee morning. Would people be interested if we could arrange a trial on that date!

We extend our gratitude to all who supported the Moorland and Fordgate Summer Fayre yesterday, which was greatly appreciated and contributed to its success. Notwithstanding the inclement British summer weather, which initially posed a challenge with a downpour coinciding with the arrival of an impressive array of tractors, the event's spirit remained undeterred, there was a good turnout and all attendees appeared to enjoy themselves. It was also good to see the newly elected mayor and deputy mayor of North Petherton at the event so they could see the work, supported by their generous grants, that has gone on in the hall to future proof it.

The wait is over! We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Moorland & Fordgate Summer Fayre and Vintage Tractor Show today from 12.00pm until 4.00pm at the Village Hall.

We are delighted that our newly elected North Petherton Mayor, Mr Damian Baker, will formally open the event at 12.00pm.

The countdown is on! We look forward to welcoming everyone to our Summer Fayre this Saturday, 20th June. We are delighted that our newly elected North Petherton Mayor, Mr Damian Baker, will officially open the event at 12.00pm at the Village Hall, kicking off an afternoon filled with fun, friendship and community spirit.

The Vintage Tractor Road Run will leave North Newton at 11.30am, arriving at the Village Hall around 12.30pm, where the tractors will be on display throughout the afternoon.

Whether you’re joining us for lunch, bringing the children to enjoy the activities, admiring the vintage tractors, browsing the stalls, or simply catching up with friends and neighbours over a cream tea in the hall, we’d love to see you there.

💚 A special thank you to all our wonderful stallholders, vendors, exhibitors and volunteers. Events like our Summer Fayre simply wouldn’t happen without your support, generosity and enthusiasm. From the delicious food and refreshments to the unique crafts, attractions and activities, you help make the day such a special occasion for our community. Many congratulations to Councillor Damian Baker on being elected Mayor of North Petherton Town Council and Councillor Sue Habberfield as the Deputy. Sue, very pleased to see you remain the rep on our village hall committee. We look forward to working with and supporting you both during your tenure. Also a big shout out to the outgoing Mayor, Linda Hyde for her support - Linda you were so supportive to our community during the emergency earlier this year, we all wish you well and hope to see you around. You will always be welcome.
