As time passes and we are settling in to the fact that the current situation is not going to be over anytime soon. With more and more postponed weddings and events, we all may be forgiven for feeling a little down.
As many couples are now looking at new dates, and future couples may find themselves with a little more time to plan, its actually a great time to get all of those fine details perfect. There are certain little changes that could make all the difference.
We have put together a few tips and considerations on those little things that may have been overlooked. We'll be posting a number of areas to think about when trying to bring your vision to reality.
LIGHTING
Lighting is often something that is overlooked and can make such a difference to the ambience and feel of a room. Remember to consider the areas of a room and the time of year your wedding is to take place. Lighting has a much greater effect in a darker setting, dusk is one of the greatest times to see the effects of your lighting choice.
Up-lighting is a great way to softly bring colour to a room. If you have a colour theme, up lights can be a great way to complement this without being overbearing. They are also a great way to light any features that your venue may have, inside or out.
Downlighting is probably going to be your main way of lighting your room. Too many bright light fittings and your room can seem stark and bright, taking away from other decorations that you've probably spent a lot of time on. Something simple like fairy lights or festoon lighting on the ceiling, using a warm white is a great way to light your main room. As the sun goes down, these types of lights help to create an amazing atmosphere, making a room feel warm and inviting, bringing down the height of the ceiling and making your guests feel relaxed.
Outside lighting can sometimes be overlooked. When thinking about outside of the main room, have a clear purpose for the use of the outside space. Again, Festoon and Fairy lights are a great way to continue a theme from your main room, helping to give the feeling of one flowing space, inside to out. Up lights will make any outside feature stand out with a wash of colour.
Whatever you decide or if you need a little advice, we are still here to help.
