Day 2 of the Battle of Hastings reenactment hosted by English Heritage at Battle Abbey and expertly compered by Mark of Hidden History Tours UK.
There are over 300 re-enactors here, including Historic Equitation, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Silly History Boys Show and Griffin Historical.
The sun is just starting to peep through the clouds and the main battle takes place at 3pm, so there's still plenty of time to get here!!

We're at the English Heritage Battle Abbey site for the epic re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings!
Witjba medieval market, there's story telling from Griffin Historical, falconry displays from Raphael Historic Falconry, infantry and horse displays from various re-enactment societies including Historic Equitation, all brought to life by Mark of Hidden History Tours UK! #1066

Dave update...he's convalescing very well. The staples are out of his head following the surgery. He says he's never felt better as all his neck pain he's had over the last two years has gone, and his leg and ankle swelling has virtually gone! He's looking very sprightly and is much more mobile compared to over the summer!
He's not yet well enough to drive or do events, so Simon and Ray are at the Battle of Hastings this weekend if you want to drop in the PA Box!

A busy weekend for all of us at Sorted Technical!!!
Dave has had successful surgery to remove some blood clots following his mini stroke and should be back in Northampton tomorrow to continue his convalescence🤞🤞🤞
Harry, our Junior Technician, went to start his degree and RFU Referee scholarship at the University of Gloucester.
Ray is busy running the PA at West Horsley Place for their re-enactment show with jousting by the amazing Historic Equitation and falconry by Raphael Historic Falconry, all organised by Griffin Historical!

After an excellent show season, David was admitted to Northampton General Hospital last week. He was extremely fatigued, and had put it down to being on the road for several weeks.
After a series of tests and scans, he has been diagnosed as having suffered a minor stroke. He has two blood clots, and has now been transferred to Oxford for surgery to remove them.
David is in very good spirits, albeit a little grumpy as they are rationing his coffee and chocolate!!
Whilst he is still extremely tired, he is mobile, can talk and currently has suffered no significant side effects.
We wish him and his wife Dilys our best as he recovers.
We will pass on any messages and will post more updates during his convalescence.

Well...only on the Isle of Wight could we have rain and thunderstorms whilst the rest of the UK has a heatwave!! Waiting for the jousting to start at Carisbrooke Castle where the English Heritage Legendary Joust is happening!
