Sharing pics from three fantastic PDRA Showcase events with .studio, , and .art!

Over the past two months, we’ve had the great pleasure of welcoming Gina Barnes, Jessica Langdon, and Charlotte Rentell to our brand-new Project Space at 24 Guildhall Road for Professional Development Residencies in partnership with .

Each artist spent two weeks developing new projects, testing ideas, and expanding their practice within a new context, supported by NNCA curators and invited artists and professionals.

Huge congratulations to our exceptional PDRA artists!

✨ Help us win Floor of the Year! ✨

Forbo has shortlisted the Giles Round designs at 24 Guildhall Road—but we need your vote to win!

The bold geometric floors at NN Contemporary Art are more than design: they’re the result of a unique co-creation process led by the artist who guided cultural walking tours with local artist communities across Northampton to gather memories and architectural stories.

💡 Did you know?
The Northampton Rooms floor draws inspiration from the historic Mounts Baths, the design legacy of the Rennie Mackintosh House, and the iconic Institute of Contemporary Arts in London—weaving artist-led and local cultural influences into every pattern and tile.

🏆 We’re proud to be up for the Forbo Awards—but voting closes tomorrow!

📣 We’re excited to announce the return of the Professional Development Residency Awards

In partnership with the University of Northampton, this programme supports emerging graduate artists in the town with time, space, and professional development, contributing to Northampton’s growing cultural landscape.

This year, we’re proud to welcome three exceptional artists (from left to right):

Gina Barnes (3 - 17 Sept)
A recent Illustration graduate, Gina’s work explores symbolism, surrealism, and human-animal relationships. During her residency, Gina will focus on live painting and audience interaction as she prepares to begin her MA at Camberwell College of Arts.

Jessica Langdon (18 Sept - 1 Oct)
Jessica’s monochrome drawings and prints explore natural forms in flux - cracked earth, eroded rock, and organic patterns - inviting reflection on the fragility and transformation of the natural world.

Charlotte Rentell (15 - 29 Oct)
Charlotte creates layered, high-gloss paintings inspired by ASD sensory overstimulation and live music. Charlotte’s work blends digital and gestural techniques to explore calm, movement, and perception. Charlotte recently exhibited at NN Nights and was an NN Associate in 2024. Throughout this residency, Charlotte will develop their practice and utilise the studio spaces to foster networking opportunities through professional studio visits.
