Today we celebrate this one… a former Top Hat pupil who brought so much joy when we caught up over coffee last week.
How proud we are to see how far she has come and what she is doing in the industry now.
Amelia Michaels is a British-Bajan Actor, Director, TheatreMaker and Facilitator born and bred between London and the Midlands. She is a hybrid in many aspects which has been her superpower, allowing her to work across various forms, disciplines, and communities. In 2024 and 2025, she solo produced 7 shows across 5 festivals of her debut play ‘MANDEM’ for which she is also the Writer and Co-Director. An alumnus of China Plate’s well established producing course ‘Optimists’, Amelia is currently focusing on birthing her directing career. Outside of her own work she’s most recently assisted Jesse Jones on ‘Top G’s Like Me’ (Royal & Derngate), Corey Campbell on ‘Romeo & Juliet’ (a Belgrade Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and Hackney Empire co-production) and Lynette Linton on ‘Not Your Superwoman’ (Bush Theatre). She’s currently a member of Headlong’s Origins 6.0 Cohort, a ‘Resident Creative’ at the Curve Leicester and is undertaking an MA in Applied Theatre at Central School of Speech & Drama. As an actor she most recently filmed for ‘Suspect’ currently on Disney+.
To say we are super proud of her and her achievements is an understatement.
