A difficult and long post incoming…..
Some of my regular wreath workshop clients will know the struggle is real, working full time in construction management now, primarily from home but in management roles, having two english pointers and a horse to contend with….
Planning, preparation, foraging and greenery collection, it can be a stressful time, along with changing jobs, selling / moving from 3 houses (1 not ours). Plus I was always adamant we make all the food ourselves fresh homemade, so the run up batch baking, freezing and making soup is somewhat manic.
I have therefore taken the heart wrenching decision to stop doing my wreath making sessions. So last year’s (2025), were our last ones.
I will also be stepping back from doing wedding flowers, unless close friends or family personally ask. But by all means ask if the date is convenient and I’ll confirm straight away.
Juggling a full time job, 2 pointers 🐶🐶 and horses 🐎 🦄, has always been a challenge as many of you will know. But I think for the time being it is for the best and my health!
If things change or Andy lets me retire early, 🤣🫣 (unlikely when owning a horse!), I maybe come back to doing them in couple of years.
A massive ‘Thank you’ to each and everyone from me and Andy, we have made some amazing friends, doing the workshops and East Harlsey Village Hall 🫶🏼💐🫶Faceby Village Hall say, I’m too good as a teacher as, they reuse and remake the wreaths each year!
Last year December 2025 with moving house, we did just one weekend of workshops, East Harlsey Village Hall one day and Faceby Village Hall the other.
It actually worked fantastically well, as we weren’t sure how the logistics would come together believe me!!
December 2024, we only had one car and that was a Audi TT (Landrover engine blew) who knew you could fit 4 Christmas trees inside and all the accessories in! Not sure the interior has looked the same since. Just took a few trips back and forth so a stressful one!
My friend Anna Wilson, Great Ayton / Nunthorpe and also a florist in Borrowby, have fairly local workshops you can attend instead or give making at home with friends a go. But please do get booked in early to avoid dissappointment.
I will do some 1-2-1’s or small sessions, plus make some to order or DIY kits, with some regulars but otherwise, unfortunately I really do regret to say B&B Blooms will no longer do the Christmas Wreath Workshops.
Many thanks to each and everyone who ever attended, I never imagined how they would take off. Think we had 35 attendees at our largest weekend sessions.
‘THANK YOU’
