Thank you

Yesterday was our first market of the season in Romsey and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by.

Thank you if you bought something, chatted about gardening, asked questions, shared kind words about the flowers, or simply came over to say hello.

We are always incredibly grateful to everyone who supports us and all the other small, local businesses. We appreciate it more than you know.

After months of growing, planning, worrying about the weather and hoping there would actually be flowers ready in time, it was lovely to see so many people walking away carrying flowers grown locally on our little flower farm.

Thank you again and hopefully we’ll see you again next month.

We’re all set up and ready

I’ll be honest … it’s been a hard start to the year for flower growing. Too cold, then too hot, then too wet, then too windy. The weather has been determined to make life difficult.

But somehow, despite all that, we’ve got buckets full of beautiful locally/grown flowers ready for you.

We were so excited for our first market of 2026, that we woke up ridiculously early. So we’re running on enthusiasm rather than sleep this morning.

You’ll find us at Romsey Farmers’ Market with bouquets, jam jar flowers and plants ready to go.

We’re here until 1pm in Alma Road Car Park by Waitrose. Come and say hello.

Well… and the ranunculus, peonies, delphiniums, sweet william, linaria, nigella, astrantia, salvia, scabiosa and lots of lovely foliage too.

Everything has been freshly picked and arranged into bouquets and jam jar flowers ready for market day.

Don’t give up on your shrivelled tubers ...

This might be the best example I’ve had this year that appearances can be deceiving.

This tiny, shrivelled, slightly pathetic-looking dahlia tuber produced a little shoot.

It doesn’t matter how small, wizened or unimpressive your tubers look - they might surprise you.

Sometimes gardening is just an exercise in optimism.

Fresh flowers have been dropped at Gastro Nicks

There’s something rather lovely about flowers being sold where food is too. Fresh fish, good cheese, bread, wine … and now beautiful flowers all grown just a few miles away.

Seasonal flowers. No huge air miles. No production lines. Just flowers grown locally and arranged with care.

Available now at , Collingbourne Ducis while they last.

A reminder to myself

Sometimes I get so caught up in the w**ding, sowing, potting on and planting out, I forget what all this effort is actually for:

To grow beautiful flowers that brighten someone’s day.

And suddenly, it all feels a lot more worthwhile.

This is probably the neatest the flower farm looks all year.

The beds have largely been cleared, w**d fabric and irrigation put back down, and everything is ready for plants to finally start going into the ground.

The perennials have woken up again too, with fresh green growth everywhere and some already beginning to flower.

Behind the scenes, there are still trays and trays of seedlings hardening off, waiting for their turn.

In a few weeks, it’ll all look beautifully chaotic again.

Romsey, we’re coming back

After a long winter of seed sowing, planting, waiting (and more waiting), Bulb to Bunch is returning to market season.

This Sunday 7 June, we’ll be at Hampshire Farmers’ Market in Romsey from 10am–1pm for our first market of the year.

There’ll be beautiful seasonal bouquets, jam jar flowers and plants, all grown or arranged with the natural, country garden style we love.

If you’ve bought flowers from us before, thank you — we’d love to see you again. And if you haven’t, please come and say hello.

We cannot wait to be back.

I don’t want to jinx it, but …

Last year I grew my ranunculus under low tunnels with frost cloth to try and get earlier flowers. It worked for the blooms … but, unfortunately, also seemed to create the perfect conditions for greenfly. The infestation was so bad I lost almost all the crop.

This year, I decided not to cover them at all.

The flowers are only just starting now, but so far … no greenfly.

Flower farming sometimes feels like one long experiment. Every year you try something, learn something and hope nature cooperates.

Please don’t prove me wrong tomorrow, aphids.

Possibly the most underrated flower?

Fresh bunches of Sweet William have just been picked from the flower farm and dropped off at deli in Collingbourne Ducis, ready for you to take home.

Why do I love them?

- One of the first flowers to bloom each year
- Bright, cheerful colours
- Fantastic vase life
- Lovely scent
- Great value for money

They may not always get the attention they deserve, but they’re one of the flowers I look forward to most each season.

And if Sweet William flowers aren't your thing, there are also ranunculus bouquets and jam jar flowers waiting for you too.
