WINE IN COCKTAILS- AUTUMN EDITION

I’m back at it at Victor Indigo November’s event space on Friday October 2nd, using French wines from their extensive selection alongside the best bits of the late summer/early autumn bounty.

Kicking off at 7pm, four wine based cocktails will be slung with cheeseboards available to pre-order from Vin

Flavour combos include… peach & viogner, savignan & pear, plum & syrah, and fig & banyuls

We’re having a tequila party on Friday in the most fun pub in the world and there will be jello shots and slushies and margaritas and palomas and high-fives and really great times.

We will definitely be ready to start at 6 and we’ll be slinging stuff till it’s gone.

I’ve got a few lush events coming up this week at some of my favourite haunts so I thought I’d share the menus with you.

The Wine in Cocktails event at is sold out but there’s a couple of later spots left at tomorrow, and if the weather stays like this then the beer yarden at will be the best place to spend your Sunday sampling my most unhinged Happy Meal selection to date.

MOTHER MERCY APRICOT COMP

A couple of weeks back I challenged the talented mob of bartenders at Mother Mercy to make a delicious cocktail using Newcastle Cocktail Kitchen’s Sun Dried Apricot Liqueur.
cartier_._ .kinch & .duffy battled it out at the Heaton branch, each bringing a fantastic drink to the table with bundles of personality and excellent story telling.

Iona took the Little Miss Apricot crown with her Sangria, which will now go into development to be released over on the website and in stores (more on that to follow).

It was incredibly humbling to see the amount of effort and enthusiasm on show that day, it almost made me want to work in a bar again.

Go and grab a drink at your nearest Mother Mercy, there’s loads of them now!

WINE IN COCKTAILS

Newcastle Cocktail Kitchen have teamed up with French wine specialists Victor Indigo November to showcase the use of their wines in cocktail form.

Four drinks will be served throughout the evening, with Angus from Newcastle Cocktail Kitchen talking through each one, highlighting how the flavour profile of wines can act as a great starting point for making cocktails.

The full menu will be announced closer to the date. Cheese boards will be available to pre-order through VIN.
