I walked into a shop today looking for a particular cup… and naturally the artificial flowers caught my eye.

I went over for a look and it got me thinking — look at what small businesses are creating compared to what we automatically accept from the high street.

Not just flowers either. Candles, wax melts, gifts, coffee, homegrown produce, restaurants, handmade pieces — there are incredibly talented people right on our doorstep.

You don’t have to shop small every single time. But when you can, have a look locally first. Your purchase genuinely means something to the person behind that business.
