I would like to say on behalf of the group a massive well done to our cubs who completed Sport Changes Life Young Ambassadors 10 week course.

Every Monday evening the cubs worked a sweat up with different sports and second half of the night done a workshop on how to represent the area they live in.

We all had fun at Airtastic, we competed in Lazer tag and bowling as a reward for smashing the 10 week course.

I have spent a load of days in the past on shooting ranges hitting targets all day but I was amazed by a young archer girl who beat my overall score at Lazer tag. Well done for that.

I want to also thank the coaches from sports changes life for delivering the programme with fun and food along the way. We look forward to working with you over the next couple of years 🤝.

Please keep an eye out for future programmes for the youth. Some great positive feedback from the young ones too.

Hi all, CORE community group met with the leisure department of Antrim and Newtownabbey borough council.

We met for a chat to see how we both can make Mossley pavilion busy working together.

Some great ideas were brought up like mums and tots, yoga, Zumba, first aid courses for the community, stuff for kids to do too lower antisocial behaviour.

We also talked about bingo nights, night at the races stuff for adults to do and it would be ok for core to apply for a drink license for an event.

We also brought up the idea of a craft fare one Sunday a month for a fund raiser for core to put back into our community.

It was a real positive meeting and we look forward to working with leisure department.

It's good us both (CORE/ANBC) chatting about making Mossley pavilion a success but it can't be done without our community.

If anyone has any ideas of what to do for example course wise or even social please let us know and we can cater for what our community wants.

Hi folks, due to the localised flooding in our estate we have reached out to Pam Cameron MLA to follow up again on the drains to be cleared along the big lane and also the drains to be cleared along Ballyearl Drive. I witnessed the water running down the big lane (water running over drains) and witnessed water running past the drains on Ballyearl Drive. If these drains were clear it would let the water run away and not sit at the bottom of the steps and near flood the footpath at the shops.

We also received a complaint about the subway at the school to be cleared again as it's backing up and the kids are getting there feet wet at the start of a school day.

Hopefully we get the lane cleared as we have been trying for a few years now to get this sorted.

The subway was a quick fix the last time so hopefully this will be sorted soon.

Any other flooding please get in contact with the group and we can bring this up with D.F.I.

Thank you

Hi all. With the recent incident that occurred at the king's mural, our community group is thinking of fund raising for an outdoor safe box for our defibrillator to be put at the side of the shops at the park in New Mossley.

The cost for one of these is around £600.

If there is any business that would like to donate gifts for a raffle, we can arrange collection and it will help us raise money.

This would be greatly appreciated.

We are thinking of collection buckets around our community too so if someone is knocking on the door or ringing the bell it's not the postcode lottery, it will be us looking a wee donation towards £600 pounds.

If anyone wants to help us raise money for this community cause, you are more than welcome.

More hands makes light work.

Well done to all the cubs who attended our young ambassadors programme at Mossley pavilion this evening.

They had plenty of fun playing dodgeball to work up a sweat and also done really well with tasks to teach them to listen through playing side games.

The room fell quite when the pizzas and chips arrived which shut us up as we were all busy eating.

Great crowd for week one and tonight the cubs were told later on that we will be discuss what trip they would like to do on week 10 (go karting, air tastic thing like that).

We look forward to seeing you all again next Monday at Mossley pavilion between 5.30pm to 7.30pm

Big thank you to all who attended tonight and most important thank you to Sport Changes Life for the great work you are doing for the youth.

Hi all, after slight repairs to the tree after it took a battering with them winds I done an inspection of our play park.

Following requests for upgrade over the past 3 or more years we are still none the wiser what upgrades we are getting.

It's great to see surrounding areas getting full upgrade in parks but we in New Mossley are felling left behind.

Our park is outdated and tired looking.

I remember help build the bonfire that got us the park many years ago. I think not much has been done to it over the years.

We are following up with Alison Bennington to see if we are getting any upgrades at all.

As you can see in the pictures places have been poorly patched up and are potential trip hazards.

Hi all unfortunately due to bad weather tomorrow Santa won't make it as his reindeers need to stay safe for Christmas day.

We also said to Barney to put the feet up and enjoy the break during his busy schedule.

However we will still be having our Christmas tree lighting up ceremony tomorrow at 4pm. We will change the schedule to Earlview Primary School and Nursery, New Mossley, Newtownabbey choir open up the ceremony, then we will hit the lights and hand out the selection boxes. We couldn't reschedule as tomorrow is the date that was put on the application form I filled out for hot chocolate and selection boxes.

Pity it couldn't have been a better day but it is what it is.

We have had a request also to grow our own tree so I managed to get one out and about on the road. I will plant it later and look after it over the next few years until it's established.

Hope to see you all tomorrow and our main concern is the kids that's why we are making it a short but sweet ceremony. Make sure to get your hot chocolate drink from Harrisons stores to warm you up!

Thank you to all who donated decorations for the tree, I got them up today on the tower of pallets I built, brave height of a tree this year.
