GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT for Somerset 27th September JOHN SIMPKIN
John Simpkin worked on film and TV as a background actor and stand-in for over twenty years. He was stand-in/double for some major stars- including Mel Gibson, Christian Slater, Gary Oldman, Rupert Everett and Tom Cruise to name but a few.
His acting appearances include, several Bond films one of them being For Your Eyes Only, Flash Gordon, Superman, Supergirl, The Legend, Hamlet (Franco Zefferelli) and of course Return of the Jedi. In Return of the Jedi he played Klaatu in all the Jabba’s Palace scenes, and also appeared as a Stormtrooper in the ' You Rebel Scum ' scene.
John no longer works in the film business, preferring life as a fitness trainer and musician, but makes regular appearances at conventions.

Guest announcement Colin Spaull
Colin will be attending Somerset 27th September
Colin Spaull is among a small band of actors who have appeared in the Classic and the New series of Doctor Who. Apart from Colin Baker (Revelation of the Daleks) and David Tennant (Rise of the Cybermen and Age of Steel), Colin has worked with two other Doctors, Paul McGann in "Grand Theft Cosmos" for Big Finish Productions and Peter Davidson in "The Last Detective".
Colin trained at the famous Drama School in Soho in the west end of London, called The Italia Conti Stage School. That's where he first met Graeme Harper, who went on to become one of the best known Doctor Who directors. Colin's first professional job was as "Pip" in BBC TVs Great Expectations. He then became the youngest member of the 1967 Old Vic Theatre Company playing the boy parts in Shakespeare's plays. He has made films with Peter Sellars, David Niven and been directed by Alfred Hitchcock. He has been in many West End theatre productions including The Fourth of June, Spring Awakening, Present Laughter, etc. He is also a voiceover artist and narrator of documentaries. Most of his life (since the age of 11) has been spent in front of either a microphone, a film camera or a TV camera. His television appearances include 'Morse', 'The Last Detective', 'The Inbetweeners', 'Doctors', 'Holby City', 'Eastenders', 'Casualty', 'The Brittas Empire', the list is endless! Colin's Big Finish Productions include 'Grand Theft Cosmos', 'The Dalek Empire' and more recently, 'Graceless'.

Guest announcement Clem So

Clem So is joining us as our next guest at Barnstaple Comic Con and Gaming Festival 14th September

Have you ever wondered what it's like to run alongside a full size X-Wing on a Resistance base in Star Wars? How about standing beside Rocket & Groot on the Kyln Prison planet in Guardians of the Galaxy or chasing the Doctor on a Space Station as a Zombie in a Space Suit in Doctor Who. These are just some of the delightful experiences on set that Clem can share with you.
Clem initially began working as a background actor on the Japanese historic fantasy film 47 Ronin in 2011 and has gone on to build invaluable experience in the film industry. Clem has become a featured and in demand face, having worked on nearly 40 major feature films to date and numerous TV shows including Sherlock, Being Human, His Dark Materials and ten episodes of Doctor Who. Other appearances include a Kyln prisoner in Marvel Studios popular hit Guardians Of The Galaxy, a Spectre crime boss in James Bond: Spectre, a Resistance Trooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Clem also featured in the highly regarded Marvel Studios block-buster Doctor Strange as one of the protectors of the Hong Kong Sanctum and an Animus patient in Assassin’s Creed. Other films Clem has worked on also include Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ready Player One, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Detective Pikachu, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and soon to be released James Bond: No Time To Die.

Scott Stevenson is an actor and creature performer who has appeared in over 300 television productions and over 100 feature films His notable television roles include 12 episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ (including playing the 8th doctor in The Day of The Doctor), a ruthless gang member in the critically acclaimed ‘Peaky Blinders’, The Masked Singer and Stuart the footman in the award winning ‘The Crown’. Notable film appearances include playing Kent Deezling, a 'Herotrooper' and Imperial officer in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as well as appearances in numerous Marvel movies, Wonder Woman, Les Miserables, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Muppets: Most Wanted.
