More than 90% of the Sun will disappear behind the Moon, giving the North East one of the most spectacular solar eclipses we'll see in our lifetime.
Thousands of folks will watch it together from the heart of Gateshead with Kielder Observatory ❤️
The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Kielder Observatory and Go North East are teaming up to turn Baltic Square into one giant eclipse party, complete with live astronomy commentary, family-friendly activities, giant screens streaming totality from Spain and plenty of opportunities to stand in collective awe as the world goes a little bit... spooky and still.
Tickets are available now and free, but will sell out very quickly, nearly 1,000 have gone already! So get your tickets ASAP for one of the biggest eclipse watch parties anywhere in the UK.
The next eclipse of this scale visible from the UK? 2090. Many of us will be brown bread.....so it really is a once in a life time kinda thing!
