⚠️ Unpopular opinion: Stop putting speakers on the floor at children’s parties.

I see it all the time. Speakers blasting at floor level while kids are sat directly in front of them.

From an adult’s height behind the decks, it might not sound loud.

But children aren’t standing where we are. They’re sitting on the floor — directly in the line of fire.

And here’s the bit people forget…

Children hear differently to adults. Their ears are more sensitive. What feels comfortable to us can feel intense to them.

When speakers are raised above head height:
✔️ The sound disperses properly around the room
✔️ It feels less aggressive at close range
✔️ The DJ actually hears a truer reflection of volume
✔️ It’s simply safer practice

We wouldn’t shine stage lights directly into their eyes — so why fire sound straight into their ears?

Maybe it’s just me… but kids’ parties should be loud enough to be fun, not loud enough to overpower the smallest people in the room.

Well… that’s me signing off for the year!!

What an incredible year it’s been here at Starlight Party — and none of it happens without the amazing people who put their trust in me to deliver unforgettable parties, every single time.

As many of you know, my other venture has gone from strength to strength and has absolutely exploded on the fight show production scene. Because of that, my availability for parties, weddings, and corporate events has been more limited — and I can’t thank you enough for your patience and continued support.

But now… 2026 is the year Starlight Party levels up. 🚀

We are thrilled to announce that Social+, along with The Unite Group , are supporting Norah's North Pole for the 5th consecutive year!

This amazing, family-run organisation ensures that children across the North East who would otherwise go without receive a Christmas present.

We are an Official Drop-Off Point again this year! Please drop off your new, unwrapped gifts at our Social+ office between 9 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday.

Last year's generosity was phenomenal, we had to dedicate a full meeting room just for the gifts! This picture shows not even half of it!
