Combining world-class soloists, dancers from the Wayne McGregor Company James Pett and Travis Clausen-Knight, choir Voices of Hope and a hand-picked orchestra, this special performance reveals the work not simply as an oratorio, but as a compelling journey through prophecy, suffering, hope and redemption.
Rather than a traditional concert presentation, singers and dancers inhabit the narrative from within, creating a rich visual landscape that illuminates the music in fresh and unexpected ways. From the radiant joy of "For Unto Us a Child Is Born" to the overwhelming grandeur of the "Hallelujah" Chorus, Handel's masterpiece unfolds as a living drama, offering audiences an immersive and unforgettable experience.
And in the first half we are delighted to also welcome Martin James Bartlett, BBC Young Musician of the Year Winner, whose exceptional artistry, poetic insight and dazzling virtuosity make him the ideal interpreter of Bachโs First Keyboard Concerto.
