Couple a months back got an email saying and wanted to come and shoot a wee doco with yer boy all about how great deli sandwiches are. Had to double check it wasn’t a phishing scheme but lo and behold!

An extra fun day spent gassin on about subs and making subs. We filmed in where you can always get our sandwiches (and condiments) and back at BOTB HQ.

You know what we haven’t done in a while? A SPECIAL! You wanna know why it’s called a SPECIAL? Well, you’ll have to get yersel along to 𝖘𝖔𝖗𝖈𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖗 this weekend to find out.

BLT
Fresh baked WILDFARMED sub
Confit bacon, garlic and herb sandwich spread
Heritage tomatoes
Allotment greens
Pinch!

As you know the BLT is essentially a salad sandwich with bacon acting as a foil for the best of the season’s bounty. Now imagine that bacon has been confit in bacon fat with garlic, sage and rosemary before being made into an aioli of sorts and cut with cream cheese to make a sandwich spread. Now imagine that with some plumptious, ripe tomatoes and lettuce, literally plucked hours before from the allotment.

Yeah. B.L.T. Big. Lovely. Time.

That was a funny week - shot some stuff with “The Nation’s Nicest Food Critic” and award-winning wordsmith for talking alllllllll about sandwiches; the ins, the outs, the bread, the bits inside the bread. Even forced him to eat an indecent amount of them, which is not the first time I’ve cooked for critics on film but it did go better than last time….

Anyway, it’s always a good time to be making sandwiches but it’s an ESPECIALLY good time at the minute. Probably a sign we should host a “SANDWICH JAM” I guess…?

Well, well, well. What’s this new match made in heaven? Oh that’s right, it’s our brand new wholegrain beer mustard “KEEN AS MUSTARD” made with the frankly delicious pale ale!

It’s everything you’d want from a premium mustard with the added delicious, citrus, hoppy notes from the beer. Spread some on your barbecued sausages, glaze a ham, roast up some root veg, stir it through your mash, make a delicious salad dressing and crack open an ice cold can to wash it down with!

It’ll be available to order off the website very soon, keep your eyes peeled 👀

Meatball Marinara - pork, beef and fennel meatballs, using the finest meat from and made to an old family recipe (kind of, I’ve been making them for a looooong time), braised in fresh made, tomato marinara sauce with mozzarella, aged Parmesan and basil pangrattato, bit of fresh basil for garnish.

This one’s been with us since waaaayyyy back when - the OG sub, before BOTB was even a twinkle in the eye.

A firm fan favourite on deliveries and now available , get it while you can.

You can also make it veggie or vegan, if ya fancy trying the best veggie sub you’ve ever had 🤷
