Why we are Saving Nemo and respect the fish. 🐠

Imagine 32,000 people the size of Bicester, Dumfries or Epsom completely gone in a second.

The press would be all over it. So why are they keeping quiet about our oceans?

I couldn’t imagine an ocean without fish in it. As it’s not just the fish it’s the eco system surrounding it.

I’ll be sharing some of my own scuba diving stories and other ocean updates regularly including fish free recipes!

We took a trip on Wednesday to visit Yasmin.

I’ve promised Yasmin I would come and visit for such a long time. I used to pick up her Egyptian meals when I lived in Gateshead and they were the highlight of my week

Everything is plant based 🌱 and also refined sugar free. So if you are like me and don’t eat a lot of sugar anymore or want a healthier option the bakes are great!

The cafe is set in an old church on one of Jesmond’s side streets but has large glass windows that you can watch the world go by (which Lincoln loved)

They’re dog friendly too with biscuits available. Disabled parking directly outside.

We are:
- Labneh and za’tar crossiant
- Lentil soup and bread
- S’mores cookie
- Fig and pistachio cake

We also had to drink a chai tea and a iced chocolate ☕️

My winner was the fig and pistachio cake

This was a perfect late breakfast as we went for a walk around Jesmond dene before eating

I will definitely be back!

🔊 Turn the sound on… because THIS is the sound of freshly cut chips hitting the fryer. 🍟

At Saving Nemo, we don’t do frozen chips. We use freshly cut potatoes, delivered on the day from our local suppliers, then fried fresh for our vegan fish & chips. 🌱

And we’re not talking small batches… At Vegan Camp Out, we had 1,400kg of fresh chips delivered! 😱🍟

From festivals to vegan wedding catering, we’ve served our crispy chips all the way from the North East to Cornwall — usually alongside our famous battered tofu, but honestly… they’re pretty hard to resist on their own.

Unless you sell us out. Then we might have to reach for frozen. 👀😂
