Three familiar Festival artists are coming together at the BBC Proms this Sunday - one to look out for!

6 days to go until we give the world premiere of Gwilym Simcock’s Triple Concerto at the BBC Proms! I’m so happy to be working on this brilliant piece with Ben and Sheku ☺️ We’re playing it first at the Proms with BBC Symphony and then in all the Bs - Bulgaria, Belgium and Birmingham 🐝

Masters of improvisation The Ciderhouse Rebellion (accordionist Murray Grainger and fiddle player Adam Summerhayes) are joined by stellar Irish singer Molly Donnery who have recorded incredible albums (A Little Bit Slanted) alongside national and international tours. As a trio they cast their evocative magic over songs born of tradition. From the misty beauties of Mo Bhuachaillín Donn to the joyous race of Murphy’s Running Dog – their hugely exciting collaboration showcases undeniable talent with electrifying performances.

Murray Gainger is no stranger to Newbury having appeared at ACE Space as part of Heretique and Monster Ceilidh Band. He has appeared at Newbury Spring Festival this year as a member of the The Budapest Cafe Orchestra. A virtuoso accordionist who knows no genre boundaries.

Adam Summerhayes “breath-taking violin wizardry” has been recognised internationally and was part of the extraordinarily dynamic baroque group Red Priest. Having established himself in the world of classical music he has also embraced jazz, gypsy and folk music.

Molly Donnery is a stunning singer whose stage presence simply captivates the audience. Hailing from the Irish midlands singing and playing harp, in 2014 she won the All Ireland Scór na nÓg solo singing competition. On graduating with a degree in film and theatre studies from Trinity College Dublin she is now based in Berlin.

Alim Beisembayev's performance of Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 was with Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Adam Hickox, and it was incredible. What a way to celebrate Philharmonia Orchestra's 80th birthday!
