As we close this Mental Health Awareness Week, it's all about raising awareness, breaking stigma, and celebrating the little things that make a big difference to our wellbeing.

Here at Newbridge Memo, we’re proud to host a number of dedicated wellbeing-focused groups, including:

🎨 Wellbeing Craft Tuesdays with The Hive
☕ Spiritual Friendship Group with Way of the Buzzard
🧍‍♂️ Jolly Brew Crew – the monthly men’s mental health meet-up

But it’s not just these groups—every event, group and gathering at the Memo plays a part in reducing social isolation and supporting better mental health across our community.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we're celebrating the power of connection, purpose, and community - all things at the heart of our Volunteer Scheme here at Newbridge Memo.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time; it’s also about gaining confidence, building friendships, and finding a space where you feel valued and supported. Whether you're helping at events, supporting our community programmes, or just being a friendly face at the front desk, every role matters - and can make a big difference to your wellbeing too. Here's what one of our volunteers had to say:

“Volunteering in the amazing community at the Memo has got me out of my house and allowed me to socialise whilst helping those around me. I often don’t leave my house for long periods of time so volunteering has really helped that too”

Suitable for children aged 4-11 years old, children under 8 years old must be accompanied by adult. Children over 8 years if not accompanied by an adult must have a completed registration form (available from the Memo office)✏️

We had such an incredible day on Saturday at our MemoCon: Sketch & Screen! Thank you to our workshop leaders The Dice Sisters, Emily Grace Illustration & Cardiff Animation Festival and all of our wonderful stall holders for packing the day full of fun! Thank you to K Lewis Photography for these amazing shots! And to everyone who joined us - we can't wait to announce the next and a very special announcement based on feedback from the day! 🎲

Unfortunately 'An evening with Kerry Ellis; has been postponed. Please see the below statement from Kerry.

STATEMENT FROM KERRY ELLIS -

"Sadly due to the hearing for my son’s secondary school placement which I’m currently fighting desperately I’m unable to be with you on the 16th of May for my show. We are going to reschedule for the New Year so I hope you can join me then sending love to you all and thank you always for your support"

The date of this event has now changed to Saturday 17th January 2026 at 7:00PM.

All existing bookings have been transferred to the new date, however should you be unable to make this date, you can request a full refund by emailing [email protected] if bought online, or calling/popping to Newbridge Memo if bought over the phone or in person.

We apologise for any Inconvenience caused by this, and can assure you that this event is beyond our control as the venue.

Back by popular demand, our brilliant comedy night returns to Newbridge Memo for another evening of unmissable laughs!

Introducing our first act for August - Andrea Woollard!

A rising homegrown Swansea comedic star, Andrea has found her comedic niche in the ever-evolving landscape of modern dating. With her sharp wit and astute observations, Andrea crafts humour from the everyday experiences and absurdities of contemporary romance.

Her performances are leaving audiences gasping for air with her observational comedy, dissecting the trials and tribulations of navigating the digital age of love with a side-splitting accuracy that resonated with anyone who's ever swiped right or left.
