Looking for a Hog Roast? We mean a REAL HOG ROAST!

Our home-bred traditional Berkshire pigs are slowly roasted, and lifted up onto the spit when we are ready to serve.
The sight of the crackling, golden, melt in your mouth and cooked to perfection crackling, gets your mouth watering, with the aroma of the pork adding to the experience.
Served in fresh rolls from a Newark bakery, with home-made stuffing (real stuffing), home-made apple sauce and BBQ sauce.

It goes without saying that we do a great Hog Roast, but there is lots more to Little John's Hog Roast.
This week we were showing our pigs at Lincolnshire show, supporting farming, promoting local British pigs and pork. A fantastic opportunity to chat to the public, and catch up with old friends.
Our youngest team member, has forged up a friendship with radio Lincolnshire and has become a regular giving live interviews and up dates on pigs and showing to her friend Grace.
This year Skyla managed to get Grace into the ring showing one of her Berkshire gilts in the young handlers competition, with Grace earning a red rosette!

A return visit to Oaktree Farm Wedding Venue, Normanton-on-Trent, on Saturday.
A relaxed wedding, at a relaxed venue. We had planned to serve inside the stretch tent, but as the weather was glorious, the couple requested we serve outside, and we were happy to oblige.

First outdoor wedding of the summer, and what a glorious evening it was.
Warm evening sunshine, relaxed wedding, and a venue hidden away in the woods - Stourton Estates, Horncastle.

Little John's Hog Roast, is more than just a hog roast.
We are Passionate about our Pedigree Pigs, their conservation, British Pork and encouraging the next generation of Pedigree Pig breeders.

This includes being part of the agricultural show circuit, Saturday 13th was our first outing of the year, Newark Show, which is our local show.
We had success with our Berkshires - taking reserve breed champion and breed champion with our British Landrace.

However the stars of the show were Chris's grandchildren in the young handlers competition.
Starting with the under 5yrs with 2 year old Reggie taking 3rd place
Next in the ring was Annabelle in the 5 - 8yr old class who took 2nd place
Finally 10 yr old Skyla in the 9 - 12 yrs class taking first place.
Skyla went on to take the overall Pig Young Handler Champion

Not a bad day at the office.
